Called it.

They nailed the adaptation by moving around a lot of scenes, that doesn't happen often.

The reveal scene was genuinely one of the most creepy moments I've ever seen in anime.

I guess the Moe Moe Death sub-genre is here to stay.

The best thing is they kept every teaser and key visuals clean until the episode was released.

They changed the key visual right after : http://i.imgur.com/QjnQFGV.jpg?1

And did you see all the signs during the episode ? The blackboard one is particularily awesome. The grave on the rooftop too.

I didn't see the blackboard, though I did read the normal stuff on the left.  However, there were a lot of things off, which I was trying to figure out.  It really gave you that "there is something strange about this situation" atmosphere without actually telling you what.  Like, I kept wondering why no one was saying anything to the girl with short hair--Japanese schools aren't going to let an underclassman behave like that--or why the horticulture club weren't shown working even though they ran all over the garden.  Why weren't the other girls going to class?  I was puzzling over all these different abnormalities, though I never would have guessed the truth.

In other news, GATE is about to get interesting.  I do hope they lay off the "Japanese soldiers are the best in the world" vibe from a manga a bit, though.  It got a bit eye-roll-worthy at times.

Random Picture of the Day: Some Splatoon Fan Art!

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

I watched the first episodes of a few things, plan to try out a few other shows, and otherwise this is my first impression so far:

- Gangsta: Brutal, interesting, will keep watching
- Chaos Dragon: kind of blah, a little generic, will give it a couple more episodes, at least
- Overlord: just riding the "omg trapped in a game" trope, semi-interesting first episode. I'll at least try the second.
- Ranpo Kitan: Game of Laplace: dark, interesting, good first couple of episodes
- Sky Wizards Academy: High probability of mediocrity, may end up okay, will keep trying
- GATE: Good mix of modern day with fantasy, good characters so far, advancing nicely
- Rokka: Braves of the Six Flowers: good first episode, decently high hopes that it will keep being good

I still have a few more to try out, but so far, I'd say this season will be decent. Not amazing, but there seems to be enough that will hold my attention that I'll be satisfied.

It's still early and drops are definitely possible but this is what I'm watching / first impressions:

GATE - I've read a lot of the manga and it certainly has good and bad aspects.  The beginning chapters are mostly action-packed, though, and it wouldn't surprise me if the anime concentrated on that.

Classroom Crisis - It's interesting and different and I like the characters.

Wakaba Girl - Episode 2 was so cute and funny.  It was awesome when she was so super excited in class that she was vibrating.

Ushio to Tora - Seems like a solid action anime with a bit of comedy.

Aoharu x Kikanjuu - I like the humor but the survival games parts will probably suck.  Hotaru is entertaining.

Ranpo Kitan - The main character is a psychopath that looks like a girl.  Pretty awesome.

The Disappearance of Nagato Yuki-chan - Started out very tame but has become deep and interesting.

Gakkou Gurashi! - Yeah.  At least, until I get the impression that it's trying to be depressing for the sake of being depressing.  I'm not a fan of the "fucked up as possible" genre.

Fairy Tail - It's OK.  I wish Natsu would die, though.

Suzakinishi the Animation - Short and funny.

Ore Monogatari - One of the better anime currently airing.  Yamato is the cutest thing ever.

Kyoukai no Rinne - The heroine is awesome.  I love the way she never gets excited or scared.

Miss Monochrome - Amusing and harmless.

Danchigai - Eh.  I'll probably watch it since it's short.

Gintama - Awesome.  Last episode with all the Soul Society references was hilarious.

Sore ga Seiyuu -  We'll see.  Seems okay.  The best part was her fighting with the stuffed animal.

Kuusen Madoushi Kouhosei no Kyoukan / Sky Wizards - First episode was fun and kind of interesting.

Overlord - Interesting, since I used to play MMOs.  We shall see.

Joukamachi no Dandelion - Maybe.  What a fucked up country they live in, though.  I'd definitely move.

Rokka no Yuusha - Seems pretty good.  Main character is sort of an ass, though, so hopefully the others will be better.

Charlotte - Kind of a messed up situation.  I'm not completely sold yet.

Shokugeki no Souma - I like the drama, I like the characters, but sometimes the stupidity of that "school" annoys me and breaks immersion.

Gangsta - I'll probably drop it.  Doesn't seem all that interesting so far.

Durarara - Definitely.

Okusama ga Seitokaichou - Very average so far.  Undecided.  Hasn't shown much substance beyond fan service.

Non Non Biyori - Definitely.

Akagami no Shirayuki-hime / Snow White with Red Hair - I've read some of the manga but it was kinda amateurish.  The anime is MUCH more polished.  Looks good so far.

Shimoneta to Iu Gainen ga Sonzai Shinai Taikutsu na Sekai / Shimoneta: A Boring World Where the Concept of Dirty Jokes Doesn’t Exist- Very unique world and plotline.  Fun so far.

One Piece - Without question.

Prison School - I don't know.  I've read a lot of the manga but there are things that happened that I simply do not like.

Himouto Umaru Chan - Not sure.  In the manga, the sister was such a selfish prick that I got tired of it quickly.

Dragon Ball Super - Eh.  Maybe.

Bikini Warriors - That was amusing, kind of, but I imagine the joke will wear out quickly.

Monster Musume no Iru Nichijou - Not very good first episode but I admit that I am curious about how he acquires more monster girls.

Chaos Dragon - I didn't care much for the first episode but we'll see how it goes.

I AM SO LOVING AOHARU X KIKANJUU !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Best New Anime this season IMO

Pocky Lover Boy!

I think I've watched the first episode of everything I was interested in so...

Gangsta-Fresh, new and awesome.
Game of Laplace- I'll wait for reviews, I need to know if it's an actually good mistery series to watch more of it.
Classroom Crisis-I felt nothing....but I'll still watch the second episode
GATE-Looks pretty good, has been mostly setup so far, will probably actually start next episode.
SHIMONETA-Was funny enough and it's original.
Durarara!! ×2 -It's Durarara and it's still good, I prefer the first part's OP and ED though.
Charlotte-Dude got wrecked, and the characters look interesting.
Dragon Ball Super-It's plot setup and it will probably be setup for a while but once that's done...
Snow White with the Red Hair-The art looks sick(as in very pretty).
Overlord-Is it good?Is it bad?IDK but I don't like the fact that he's only dealing with AI's.
Gakkou Gurashi!-I guess I spoiled myself on the reveal, I'll see where it goes but the art is really good.
Prison School-The best, I could not stop laughing and this is definetly what I'll be looking forward to every week.

Pretty good season.

Great season actually. I don't have a lot of time so I had to drop a lot of mediocre stuff I would normally watch.
In alphabetical order:

Akagami no Shirayuki-hime
Great first Ep, but I don't know how they can improve on that. Still I really like the writing and dubbing in this.

Bikini Warriors
It's boobs and a bit self awareness. It's also a short which means no reason to drop it.

Charlotte
While I found the first ep a bit annoying and lackluster the second ep hits it home. Can't wait to see what horrible things will happen to genki girl and imouto chan.

Classroom Crisis

Probably the most mediocre one I'm watching. I should actually drop it but I want to find out what it is that keeps drawing me back.

Danchigai
It's a short and it has a lot of cute girls.

Dragon Ball Super
It's Dragon ball

Gakkou Gurashi
I would watch this all day long even without the twist.

Gatchaman Crowds Insight
Awesomeness continues. Keeps the same pace from the original while adding 2 girls. No reason to not watch this.

Miss Monochrome 2
As one of the only people on earth watching this I need to continue.

Monster Musume
It's quite lovely. MC girl might be a bit too adorable but luckily there will be other girls to balance that out.

Non Non Biyori Repeat
Inaka goodness the 2nd. Probably the best anime a city boy like me could watch.

Okusama ga Seitokaichou!
It's a short and it has nipples in it.

Ranpo Kitan
I'm on the fence for this one. Ned to see the second ep if it's actually worth it. The mystery is intriguing enough.

Rokka no Yuusha
Fast paced adventure anime for once not set in European medieval. Nice refreshing setting.

Symphogear GX
First ep already started with a firework. The only thing that would make this anime more epic is having it made by Trigger.

Sore ga Seiyuu
It's no Shirobako but it's close.

Teekyuu 5
It's Teekyuu.

Wakaba Girl
Really nice and short. The girls are adorable and the gags sometimes even work.

Wakako Zake
A short about food and sake.

Working!!!
It's Working. And it has more Yamada than ever!

Idolmaster Cinderella Girls 2 and Fate/Kaleid 2wei! Herz! haven't started yet but they are definitely on the list.

So i just finished watching Gakkou Gurashi! And OH SHIT! I didn't see that coming! I was waiting for that HORROR genre to pop up, but after waiting for so long, i thought that Myanimelist made a mistake. But then that scene happened..... :-o And it did makes sense, how that girl reacted everytime they went in a classroom.

I love Puella and HOTD So im probably going to like this one too

So it hasn't started yet but is Fate/Kaleid 2wei! Herz! A spin off of Fate/Kaleid? Or does it pick up where the last season left off? I'll be sad if its a spin off :(

It's a simple continuation.

Something has to keep that stupid franchise alive.
