I don't know. I found the GGO arc pretty lackluster and cheezy. Excalibur was ok and the latest is pretty interesting.

Do share your thoughts on why you think GGO was lackluster ...

I thought the whole story was a bit cheap.

Kirito as the hero who instantly can master everything swooping in to save the damsel in distress pretty much by himself. Then this whole bullshit with the killer in the room that hinged on the flimsy speculation that he won't kill if she isn't shot in the game. If they really believed that, there had to be a way for him to just log out and run to her apartment or at least to signal or message someone to have a look at it. It was an extremely dangerous situation, yet they just played it straight as if they knew everything would be fine in the end.

I just didn't buy it.

I don't think Kirito is as perfect as you make him out to be ... He too can be insensitive towards others at times and he also has his own emotional moments plus he's not exactly a genius either ...

Actually, it's nowhere near flimsy speculation. Aside from the past victims there really was a clear rule that the murderers upheld in the BoB, they came to that conclusion when Pale Rider was forced to log out of the competition after Sterben shot him.

There was a way for whoever was playing Sterben to signal his associates without logging out and that either by taking a look at what the competition displayed or making this cross shaped sign for whenever he shot an opponent.

I agree that there was indeed a lot of luck that was involved with the situation ...

If they were so sure that she wouldn't get killed without being shot by Sterben ingame why not stop the competition immediately and tend to the girl that is in a life threatening situation? For example what if Kirito just shot her in front of the cameras?

What difference would that make ? Sinon's friend, Shinkawa is psychologically unstable so anything could happen ...

If anything that could make the situation worse since it would show that something isn't right with Sterben and his associates so that would just make them suspicious. Hence why Kirito reccommended against Sinon logging out otherwise it would result Sinon into becoming a hostage ...

What Kirito didn't do right after finishing the competition was calling the local police to aid him and Sinon ...

Which is my point. If they weren't sure what would happen if they interrupt the tournament they wouldn't know what would happen if the  tournament ends without her being shot either. Yet they chose that path without even considering immediately helping someone who is in imminent danger.

That was not your point ... You argued why the duo didn't take actions during the BoB so I gave an objection ...

Plus that extra line in my post is just there to further demonstrate that Kirito isn't perfect and he too overreacts just like we humans do ...

I just want to add that kirito struggled with the pistol for a while and never really mastered it :)
