Forums - Sony Discussion - Vita deserves so much better!

That was a nice post to read, you seem to be really enjoying it (and you haven't even played P4G yet).

I bought one this fall and played it alot for about a month. Since then it has been lying around sadly. The OS feels, ok, but it doesn´t feel new and fresh. Also, it does get very Little support from Sony and I get the sense that they haven´t designed the games from a handheld perspecitive, that´s why so many games feel akward playing on the device.

although i was too late but welcome to the Vita family Lulz!

I agree, vita is an underrated device, abandoned by western developers and ignored by western gamers for unknown reasons. Like someone else said, I too read too many times people said that they rather wait for price drops to buy it but now when the price dropped they seem to forget their promises and enjoy mobile and console gaming instead, which is sad. Thus this directly gives huge blow to developers and especially SCEE and SCEA due to not enough audiences which won't give enough profit and so, less 1st party support for it. All we can see lately is only Japanese games from SCEJ and only ports/collections from the west.

PS: if i'm a billionaire, I would donate million dollars to SCE and other developers only just to make more Vita games....seriously.

Oh I definitely plan to, I just have a ton of other games to get through first. I still haven't totally finished FF X HD and that was the first game I got with my Vita. I keep getting sidetracked by all the other great games! I'm currently on a Sly Cooper binge!

Haha, I actually had a dream once...probably about 3 years ago, where I won the lottery and paid Sega millions of dollars to have Shining Force 1 remade with HD graphics! How much of a giant nerd am I?

It is a great system, gets a lot of underserved hate, largely cause with PS4 doing gangbusters it's one of the few areas people can troll Sony consoles. Sad, cause it's a great handheld, love the PSN integration and hardware,

I got my Vita on launch day (the official launch day, not the earlier launch) and it's great hardware. Aside from some must have exclusives that can only be played on the console, it does pretty much everything right. The thing is, I take it everywhere with me in my backpack and I never play the darn thing! Too many other portable time wasters.

I don't know why consoles get a free pass. I have movies, internet, sex, etc. at home but I seem to make time for a dedicated gaming experience. When I'm on the go, suddenly I want to browse, watch Netflix, etc. instead of playing a game. Sad but true. I'm hoping to get drawn into a good strategy game or JRPG sooner or later, though....

I can totally relate to OP. The Vita IS a great system, but not much is being done with it. I think the most ambitious game, IMO, was porting Borderlands 2 to it. I mean, dang, full recent console game on the go.

I had a great honeymoon period with mine when I bought the Borderlands bundle. Didn't play that too much but played through Tearaway and found it lacking. Then started Uncharted and that game left a horrible impression. It was pretty much climb, shoot, quick time, repeat. I returned the system while I was in my 15 day return window.

To be honest, I do think the Vita is a good system. But even if I wanted, I just can't afford it.

I like the Vita, but to be honest I feel it deserves about as much hate as it gets due to Sony's lack of first party on it. I mean indies and ports are cool and all, but there's just nothing much else except Japanese games, and a few noteworthy exclusives like Tearaway. I mean I keep seeing how the Vita's best game is P4G, and that's an enhanced PS2 game.

I feel that the Vita is a system with the most potential in a handheld, held back by it's parent company.

Disclaimer: I own a Vita with a decent amout of games from classics, exclusives, ports, and Japanese games.
