= Nintendo's Next console gets a lot of 3rd parties.

Nintendo wins.

#Logic.

But then PlayBox would beat PlayStation and Xbox.

yeah...no

and bill gates couldnt care less really at this point. While he still has some influence in microsofts dealings, he's pretty much sitting pretty in retirement money.

I think Bill gates would rather buy all the hookers in the world than do that

Not a good idea at all. For many reasons, for starters why would Bill Gates even want to do something like that?

Because Bill wants to win.

But Bill Gates is already a winner like Billionare winner. lol! xD

If he buys the PlayStation division, there will be no first place to go next generation. Besides, if Microsoft buys its competition, eventually they'll be on a perilous situation. Why are there 3 consoles out there in the market? Variety. Consumers want variety while looking to buy a product. If there isn't variety, you leave out a part of the consumers. If Microsoft alone can't deliver the variety PlayStation offered, no one will buy their products.

Is that really simple logic though? It doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me...

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

No, because if Ms buy the PS brand Sony will not be a competitor anymore and Ms cannot beat Sony on a game Sony isn't playing.

No one cares about the game industry enough to do that.

Honestly video games aren't a great business. None of Sony/Nintendo/MS right now are making any profits from the game industry that any major corporation would be impressed by and half the dev houses worldwide are one flop away from going bankrupt.

MS is kinda obligated to see the X1 through, but I think even they internally are recoginizing they kinda screwed the pooch with the XBox brand. The threat to MS' OS monopoly never was from the living room (consoles) it was from Apple and Google, but they never saw that coming until it was too late.
