Is coming out this week! Aw yeah!

 

Ahem, I mean, the latest entry in the Marvel film universe, "Guardians of the Galaxy" opens in the US this week. Pre-release buzz is strong as a sequel has already been announced at San Diego Comi-con this week.

Right now it sits at 96% on Rotten Tomatoes which is really good for a Summer Blockbuster.

Marvel and Disney are pushing this once C-Level team hard with promotions including the recent comic series, toys and merchandise and Disney Infinity collection.

Why am I excited?  Guardians to me just looks like so much fun, not dumb turn your brain off junk, but thrilling adventure with a memorable cast.  I cannot help but smile when I saw the preview.  it is unapologetically comic book absurd glory with Groot and Rocket as they should be.

Are you excited? Are you seeing it first week? Sometime down the road? On DVD? Never? Why or why not?

Expectations on how it will preform?  My guess is the film will open at 50 million on the weekend and end up around 200 million total domestic gross, with another 250-300 international.  I really want this to be successful, do you think it will be?

I don't really know what to make of the adverts I have seen so far. I will watch when it comes to TV but I won't be going to the cinema to watch.

I assume you do not watch tv, or go to movies, or look at billboards, or read magazines or newspapers, or talk to humans, or go on gaming sites or the internet since ads have been in all those places.

 

I am not hyped at all. So maybe it will be really good? any reviews yet?

I do all that stuff but maybe I haven't been paying attention.

So far it has 96% fresh reviews uout of 27 on rotten tomatoes, IGN gave it a 9.2, IMDB user score ahs it at 9.1 (wich may or may not mean anythign but its based on 2500 votes so its a lot of ppl who saw pre-screeners and such) and overall reviews have been quite favorable. It was the same for Captain America 2 and the movie turned out to be awesome, so Im expecting guardians to be awesome as well.
