"The One" sounds pretentious and hasn't been cool since the Matrix got old. Xbone has also stuck. So instead of trying to push for some other name, they should learn to love the Xbone and run with it. I'm sure spin doctors given millions of dollars to market stuff and get good PR could turn Xbone into a strength rather than an insult.

Xbox 720 is a better name, and makes more sense, if you know what I mean ;)

I think it is a good thing that the typical Xbox One user is reflecting over these issues.

It's a serious idea. They wanted The One, which sounds stupid and never caught on, and now I've heard it referred to as the Xbone more than anything else in real life. Instead of focusing on being the "all in one" entertainment machine, they should realize the computer already does that and better, and go for another angle.

Embracing an insulting title and making it your own often ends better than trying to fight it.

I like my ONE and will continue to call it that. If others want to call it the Xbox One, Xbone, Xbox or anything else then that's fine too.

PC Master Race, Slick Willie, and the Hefty Lefty come to mind.

 

And yeah I write these, I have it in my sig and everything. I hang out on a lot of forums so I post on a free wordpress site and link to it from the forums because it's easier and less wall of text spam. I've had this come up a few times now. I was pretty sure the consensus was nobody cared as long as it wasn't advertising or generating money, of which I do neither with my posts that I link here. If it is a problem with the admin or mods I can just be asked to stop and I'll just type the whole topic here instead of linking.

Also, my grammar better than 99% of the people on the internet.
