It's not that they would change their opinion it's that they wanted reviewers to support their opinion, so they would be proven "right", there were (or probably still are) some people on here that would go as far as to call people stupid if they wanted to buy this, I'm sure those hoped for critics to deduct points for the game being a "rip off". A recent example of exactly that happening would be MGS: Ground Zeroes, people called that a rip off and reviews reflect that with the lowest score a MGS game has ever gotten.

Also to just add to Bureks point for a second (I won't dive into this any further Cone), I myself made a thread about the people complaining about TLOU:R and that got over 470 replies, a thread on here doesn't just get that amount of replies for no reason and there were several threads with hundreds of replies about this topic. It's really, really hard to deny that there has been a lot of hate thrown at this remaster on vgchartz.

Of course, exclusives always get fighted for and against the most. But many, many posts are defending and not offending. One post saying "nah, I won't double dip" can get you easily 6-8 "counter posts" so a thread easily gets blown up.

No. Our complaints had nothing to do with the quality of the game itself. It got great scores last year, why wouldnt it now?

Quality game should get a good review irregardless of its early incarnation on the previous platform.
What's pretty funny to me is the all "of course its gonna get good reviews because it got good scores last year" comments. It stands to reason that after a year of playing the game, had the game not had significant improvements it would have been rated heavily and gotten a much more average score.
But what are you gonna do:
