Was just looking at some real old threads on a different site and here is what people said

Lol, just goes to show how utterly useless and futile and effort it is to try to predict the outcome of a generation before it's even half over.

Yeah, most of the industry expected Wii to flop as well. Goes to show you shouldn't automatically assume the "experts" will be right.

Gaming never changes. In past people used to keep fighting for graphics. And nintendo is still making unpredictable moves since NES era.

Funnily enough we saw the opposite thing happen with the WiiU :p (at least here).

People almost universally disagreed with the guy that predicted the WiiU would sell less than 40m LT. Now we're sitting here celebrating it managing to scrape by a 60k/w baseline.
