Forums - Nintendo Discussion - What are the best 3DS games?

I could make a huge list of all my favorite titles on my favorite system (and I'm sure I have on at least two other threads), but my top 5 exclusives are:

1.) Fire Emblem Awakening
2.) Zelda: A Link Between Worlds
3.) Kid Icarus: Uprising
4.) Shin Megami Tensei IV
5.) Pokemon X/Y

I loved the Tales of the Abyss, Ocarina of Time, and Star Fox 64 remakes/ports, but I understand those don't count. Also Animal Crossing and Tomodachi Life are loads of fun, but I understand these games aren't for everyone.

I said remakes ARE allowed, just ports and multiplats are not.  So those three games you mentioned are acceptable entries.

2. Games must be exclusive to the 3DS.  Remakes are allowed, but ports and multiplats are not.

I don't see how this disqulaifies Smash Bros. The 3DS version isn't a port or a multiplat. It doesn't have the same stages as the console version and there are 3DS exclusive modes. If they had called them "Smash Bros Tournament" and "Smash Bros Arena", and changed absolutely nothing about the content with respect to the current situation, you would probably have counted them as two separate games.

Yeah, I was unsure if I should consider that a port/multiplat.  I'll make my final decision after both versions come out and I can compare them.

Kid Icarus: Uprising has fantastic online play and charming voice acting...
A Link Between Worlds has fun dungeons and the painting mechanic resulted in some cool puzzles...
Tomodachi Life is memorable if only because it's so weird...
Shin Megami Tensei IV has a really cool story...
Pushmo is an awesome puzzle game...
Heroes of Ruin was a tragically overlooked dungeon crawler that was fun to play online...
I know I didn't exactly go in depth, but I'm at work...

Have a nice day...

OK top 10 time here we go (didn't play OoT getting that out of the way right now)

I certianly concur with kid icarus uprising and luigi's mansion 2; those are both fantastic.

has anyone ever played Sakura Samurai: art of the sword? I like that one but I havent beaten it yet. Also another one that gets overlooked is Adventure time: hey Ice King why'd you steal our garbage?!?! Its essentially a spiritual successor to zelda 2, and its done by wayforward so its more respectable. If you arent a fan of the show its still a good game, you just probably wont care for the story or humor of it.

Ah, yeah, you're right, guess I read too fast.

I think Zelda OOT and Tales of the Abyss would probably jump up past Pokemon and SMT in that case. I don't think they can oust my Top 3 though.

I still have alot of 3ds games to play yet but of the ones ive completed these are my favorite.

1. Albw
2. 3d Land
3. Virtues Last Reward
4. Fire Emblem Awakening
5. Luigis Mansion
6. Mario Kart 7
7. Zelda Oot
8. Pokemon X/Y
9. Kirby Triple Deluxe
10. Star Fox 3d

I feel like if Virtues Last Reward isnt on a list of best 3ds games then that list is not legit. The game is truly amazing, you all should play it.

Give Kid Icarus and Tomodachi a TRY....

I'm not sure if that violates Rule #2.  It is also on the Vita, but only in Japan.  Although, it seems to have not been released in Europe, so it would violate rule #1.
