Dishonored. Even though it just downloaded from Steam. Waste of a disc.

Simple question, since when have you been all digital on PC?

The last boxed PC game I've bought was Deus EX: HR. Which is also the last time I've bought an AAA PC game at release. Nowadays I wait for Steam sales instead. Deus EX: HR was just a disc inside an empty box, disappointing. Before that I bought The witcher 2 which had all kinds of goodies in the boxed version.

I've never been a PC gamer but, correct me if I'm wrong here, doesn't ever physical game have to be fully installed anyway? If that's true, it seems rather pointless to buy physical discs since you'll only use them once anway.

It was either SC2 or FF14 1.0's collector's edition (ohgodwhy). Can't remember which i got first, but both were back in 2010.

I bought Skyrim Legendary Edition last month. I don't care if a game is physical or digital, I go for the best deal, and there are still some really good prices for physical. Now, all things being equal, I go physical, as it's MUCH, MUCH faster for me to install.

Where do you buy them? When I bought Deus Ex: HR I had to ask for it, they had one under the counter. When I wanted Far cry 3 they didn't have it, so I got it for ps3 instead.

I guess I can order them online. FC3 on Amazon.ca $12.49, $29.99 on Steam. Ofcourse that doesn't include shipping and tax on Amazon, Steam is tax free (but pay in American)

I can't leave 500GB of games installled on my PC, and with a 80GB data cap per month which is already strained in my household, I can't redownload titles at will nor download a new 30-40GB game at all.
Plus I don't know if you can transfer game files to another pc or laptop without redownloading them on Steam? Some games run better on my desktop, some on my laptop, or I simply want to play them on both. It's easier to install in 2 locations from a disc.

I'm worried about Star Citizen. I backed it for a digital copy, which the way things seem to be going I won't be able to download :/ I guess I can pause the download and spread it over multiple months ugh.

Amazon.  I have Prime, so no shipping charge.

I totally feel your pain and it's a real concern you don't hear much about these days for some reason. It's like the elephant in the room imo. Digital games, when they were first coming out as a concept, were supposed to bring us amoung other things, a more convenient way to buy our media. But for me, downloading a 50GB game is MUCH less convenient and quick than just running across the street to Walmart and buying the damn thing on a disc.

If they want mass adoption, they're going to have to make internet speeds MUCH faster and more affordable because right now, the only people who can download AAA games in a few minutes are people who are paying out the ass each month...at least in the US.

Generally Blizzard games. Bought Diablo 3 & Starcraft 2 during holiday season last year. Will pick up Reaper of Souls as a boxed copy most likely. Before that i picked up Borderlands 2 and Guild Wars 2 at retail.

I get mine from Bestbuy and Future Shop most of the time since you were wondering.
