Forums - Gaming Discussion - Is Destiny overhyped like Titanfall??

I hear a lot of predictions that it will do GTA numbers, but I would say it will do close to what Watch Dogs has done. So some people overhype it IMO, but I think it will do well and have at least one sequel.

Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.

Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.

Originally I would have said no, but seeing all the pricey DLC expansions that Activison is looking to pull off, I would say yes, it is overhyped. Still have high hopes though, the beta and alpha were both very fun.

I'm pleasantly surprised at the responses in this thread. Was expecting a bit more "Believe the hype" nonsense.

Reminds me of Brink. Does anyone remember Brink?

"You should be banned. Youre clearly flaming the president and even his brother who you know nothing about. Dont be such a partisan hack"

After playing it myself, no.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

It is way overhyped. Stupid story, boring quests and empty landscapes with shit to do.

Im definitely buying Day 1 and it may very well be the best co-op 8th gen game until AC Unity, Halo 5 or Gears. But yes, i think it's overhyped by the people thinking it will pull COD or GTA numbers.

Not overhyped like Titanfall, but very hyped indeed. We don't know how will the rest of the game will be, but we know it has a story, co-op and competitive; much more than Titanfall. Will it be a disappointment? It depends on how Bungie plans to distribute the content between the main game and the DLCs.

I would say it is overhyped, but it will be a far better game than Titanfall. I like Titanfall but Destiny just feels more complete.

I played it and it was really fun but I was not blown away by it. The story was hard to follow and not that interesting and the graphics were just ok. Also, the AI enemies let me off the hook way too many times. I would be close to dead and reloading and they would retreat instead of killing me.

Definitely.

It will have good numbers, maybe better than Watch Dogs, but it not reach COD/GTA and it is too soon to say if the IP will be able to hold the gamers.

Critically, it may reach or get near 90, but that`s because the midia is hyped too. I mean, if Titanfall got 86 than it will be easy to give this 90.
