Forums - Gaming Discussion - Why Destiny Will Not be the Next Call of Duty...

Thank you for clearing that up. The only thing people are saying is that it will take the crown of "FPS king" from CoD. So mainly sales wise it will be the greatest shooter but also in quality, from what I've played it will be the best in a long while.

Good. The last thing we need is this franchise seeing that yearly mediocre release (although the type of game doesn't allow for that)

Who knows what activision has planned.... If it's succesful you sure as hell know theyll have a crack at making it yearly

Xbox One - PS4 - Wii U - PC

If by not being the next CoD you mean in terms of sales then yeah I've seen a lot of people say that.

To think that Destiny actually gets called "too complicated" and "hardcore" makes me shed a tear at the state of modern gamers

Totally agree. So sad.

I bet the Wii U would sell more than 15M LTD by the end of 2015. He bet it would sell less. I lost.

-Too complicated for average joe to master

-No PC release (that I know of)

-No nintendo fanbase (Call of Duty was/is on Nintendo platforms)

-Gives a more hardcore vibe where as Call of Duty gives more of a casual vibe

-So many shooters on Market these days

This franchise will do Halo Numbers on the New systems but not Call of Duty numbers. The industry just doesnt need any more shooters I dont think. Maybe I am wrong! The industry is leaning toward open world games and this is kinda open world so it might who knows?

Point 1. I don't get how it's so complicated honestly. There's a little bit of a learning curve, but nothing like most RPGs.

Point 2. Completely invalid. Many COD titles aren't on the wii at all, and the ones that are had poor sales

Point 3. Same as point 1. I could see hardcore and casual getting into this. I don't see how this is only a hardcore game. Very few games are like that honestly.

Point 4. This works against COD just as much as it does Destiny, if not more so because at least Destiny is new.

If Destiny did Halo numbers, it would be a massive success, and more successful than Call of duty. I'm not sure if destiny will be the next COD. But I think that because many people night not want it. The market is somewhat confusing.
