While Smash Bros Wii U may seem more likely to launch this year, the TBD status still warrants the question if it can possibly be delayed. Wii U already has Mario Kart 8 and other titles for this year's holiday season  but 2015 may have nothing big to move the Wii Us besides Zelda Wii U. Xenoblade: X isn't Pokemon, Final Fantasy, or a WRPG. Splatoon is a new IP which Nintendo struggles to market worldwide, and Yoshi, Kirby, and Mario Party do not seem to be big system sellers. Amiibos may launch this year but it could always support the 3DS Smash Bros if the Wii U game is delayed next year. There could be more titles we don't know about but considering Wii U's current sales, why weren't they shown for E3 2014?

So what do you guys think? This year or next?

Nintendo has no other game that's meant to drive sales this holiday. If they delay it, it'll be the end of the Wii U, imo.

Add me for Pokemon, New Leaf, and Fire Emblem, Mario Kart 8.

Since Smash Bros for 3DS is being release on October...

I have a feeling Smash will be release a week before Black Friday, if not then First week of December or before Christmas. If Nintendo does not fulfill consumers need of having it before the holidays then kiss Wii U sale boost good bye.
I hope i aint jinxing it tho :3

No

Most likely cause the e3 build looked pretty much ready to go so the game cant be too far off

I believe so :)

Absolutely.

Yes. Nintendo can be stupid at times, but there's no way in hell they'd do something that stupid.

Amiibo launches this year and the only game that can use it this year is smash. So smash is coming in November.

They said Holiday 2014, and considering the hype for this game, I'm pretty sure they're pushing for the game to be released around that time, since it's the best time to release a game that big.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."
