Not quite for regenerating it. It would work if the world was completely random, but to revisit areas and have them in a certain state, you would need to store that state. PProcedurally generated games like Minecraft have this issue, since all visited tiles have to be stored for later use, they cannot be regenerated in the same state on the fly. It would work if you didn't need to come back to the exact same environment, but that wouldn't work in a game like Zelda.

Sure but how big of a piece of terrain do you think is involved in the save state and how much of can be randomly generated?

Look back at the pic.   I could imagine large portions of land (each protrusion from a 0 axis point) being a single save state.  So you'd need basic corrdinates and a height map.  Then randomly generate the foliage and rocks.     More detailed locations or portions would naturally need a more detailed saved state but if much of the terrain is as we see in the pic, they could get away with a lot of random data.

However, I actually doubt very much this is what they plan and the game will have some form of boundaries.

True, if they can leave out some detail thay can certainly save memory. It would make the world feel a little barren though, but I see what you are saying.

But yeah, they almost certainly will have boundaries and the statemewnt was more a hyperbole than anything.

Alternatively it could be an endless spherical world.

That new translation is better but still wrong I think.

My expectations for the new villain would be something cool like this:

But it's Aonuma..... So we'll probably just get more of this:

*sigh*

Nothing wrong with Ghirahim. Best villian in the series in a long time.

Proud to be the first cool Nintendo fan ever

Number ONE Zelda fan in the Universe

DKCTF didn't move consoles

Prediction: No Zelda HD for Wii U, quietly moved to the succesor

Predictions for Nintendo NX and Mobile

Whaaa? Am I the only one that WANTS Ganon in this?!

I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.

Everything is wrong with Girahim.

I LOVE ICELAND!

Eh, truthfully, he fit the standard non-Ganondorf villain Legend of Zelda parameters of being odd, evil and slightly humorous, add in his looks and "style" you can't say he wasn't memorable. And trust  that being memorable especially in a game like Zelda where the truely memorable characters are few and far between is enough.

Frankly, I would be surprised if he wasn't in a Smash Bros game somewhere down the line, especially seeing as they put him in Hyrule Warriors already.

Ganon is still the centre of AoL (stopping his return), ALBW (dunno in what capacity since i havent played it) and the centre of the motivations behind both OoS and OoA (yes, i count the Linked game plot.) And i'm pretty sure he's in FSA.

He might not be the final boss of most games, but he definitely appears in a large majority of the series.  And many people like the other villains. They dont get enough of a chance either.

Yes, you are right of course about Four Swords Adventures, my mistake. Edited.

You could count OoX as a whole, it's fair to do so. In A Link Between Worlds (no super-huge spoiler, but probably best not to read because it's more fun to see in-game) he is referenced, and Yuga takes his imprisoned demonic power to transform himself.

I wanna read that so bad.

But I wont.

Untill you beat'em and find out Ganon is the true mastermind

I hope this is not the case. .-.

I don't really care as long as Link remains a boy. If he's a girl...no. I went through this with MGS2 and I'm not going through it again lol.

I'd love if Link was a girl.

Where'd you get the idea that it's after SS?

People have been breaking down the teaser shot. It seems to have all the geographical features in proper place but there's a lack of architecture found in the series, leaing people to assume it takes place before things advanced to that point.

I'd hate if it were after SS. Pre-split games right now when the child and adult timeline are desperate for new games is a crime.

I feel like they'll bring Vaati to the 3D realm before they give us a new one.

The problem with straying from Ganon is that it's hard to have someone dangerous and important enough. Ganon's pretty much built into the fabric of the world itself. A different incarnation (that actually sticks around) could be cool, though I would prefer a game where you eradicate the original once and for all. I mean, that would be pretty epic, right? No freezing, trapping, half-killing... Then we could get an incarnation of Demise that was simply doesn't manifest itself through a Gerudo.

Like a Deku Scrub!

I'm fairly certain he died in TP, and that the Ganondorf in FSA was completely new.

Ah, but FSA adding a new incarnation doesn't prove that he died in TP, because there could someday be a game that takes place in between!  XP  That's the problem with this series. Everything is inconsistent and determined by the seemingly random whim of the developers, and they can always leave endings open so that they can wedge stuff between/continue later.  But you could very easily be right, maybe all these times Link has stabbed him recently he's died.  If that's the case, then they really are going to need some fresh baddy blood, because they're wiping him out of every timeline!

Ah, I forgot about that. But still, he's still dead eentually, since no matter what, Ganon being reborn is an inevitable future
