INTRO - The Millenial History of Palestine/Israel

Palestine is, in the recorded History of human, the busiest crossroads that has known more tribes, wars, civilizations than any other place in the world. It is also said to be both the birthplace of human-kind, that of civilization and of the abrahamic religions (Abrahamism, Samaritanism, Judaism, Christianity and Islam etc...).

2000 BC: The word "Palestine" or "Paleshu" in its origin predate the appearance of both judaism or Islam, jews or arabs. In the earliest period, the city of Jericho located in the Palestine region is said to have been of the first continualy inhabited city, concentrated around the following of Abraham.

1200 BC: Appearance of the Israelite. This region was consecutively composed of a community of people named "Israel" rather than a nation, until in 950 BC it was split into the Kingdom of Judah, and Kingdom of Israel, both destroyed around 750 BC. Part of the region was then called "Israel" for a very brief period of time.

MODERN HISTORY - Origin of Zionism

1800s: Palestine which represented the whole Israel-Palestine region of today, was composed of 70% muslims, 11% jews and 10% Christians. Because of the pogroms in Eastern-Europe, the idea of Zionism started to get attention,  and a rising jewish immigration led to the creation by the Palestinian authorities to creates positions for the jewish community to be better represented.

1896s: Theodor Hertzl publish the "Jewish Question" in response to the growing rejection in Europe, in favor or the creation of a jewish territory in the ancient Holy Land, were jewish could live separate from the European they "hinder so much". An idea that seduced British, and the Rotshild bank a lot, as well as Hitler later, but not the installed nations.

1916s: During WWI, The Ottoman Empore which sided with Germany was fought against by France and England. Asking the zionist to spy for them, they eventually won, putting Palestine under mandate. But the growing ingerence over the Palestinian affairs, and the concern for the Zionist project, led to tension between the Jewish and Muslims communities, mainly fed by the English colonials who tried to better destabilise the country to push their agenda further.

1936s: After having split and shared the colonized country between a French mandate (north), a British mandate (south) and an independant mandate (west aka Cisjordanny), the growing concern about the eroding freedom of Palestinian and the massive jewish immigration promoted by Europeans already responsible for the pogroms, led to riots against the British plan to build a pipeline that would take aways their ressources for the benefit of European countries. What is then considered as the first resistance of Palestinian against this colonisation led to the massacre of several Palestinian leaders.

1940s: WWII. While the British had already destabilise the country of Palestine, there was no clear position as to the war. Some leaders who wanted to defend Palestine against the colonisation and Zionist project sided with the Axis by sending a few troops fight against Soviet soldiers but lost. Some leaders sided with the British and alongside jews and were sent to fight against nazis.

POST-MODERN HISTORY - Creation of Israel

1947s: After the war, Britain is weakened, and regularly attacked by Jewish paramilitary groups and arab resistance for independance. The UN then reunites, and Western countries decide in spite of the independant Muslims countries who were against it, to partition the Palestinian territory into two, one that would be given to the Jewish, and the rest to the Arabs. Ensued a devastating civil war of the Yishuv (jewish army) financed by the Rothshild, which was followed with the destruction of homes and displacement of 700.000 arab palestinians. Palestine was then split in three, the Golan Height next to Syria, the Western Bank and the Sinaï Peninsule (South Palestine and Part of Egypt, around the now reduced region of Gaza)

1967s: The Six Day war. Following the concern of the militarisation of Israel with the help of western countries, after Palestinians sabotage newly received weapons, Israel led a surprise offensive against the then Egyptian military instalation in the Sinaï Peninsul. Israel also provoked Jordany to war by attacking a village of civilians, although Jordany was careful not to participate at first they eventually decided that if they didn't go Israel will see it as a sign of weakness and continue to plot. In the South, Israel that had led to critics because of the Tel Dan controversy in which they were accused to steal water ressources from the Golan Height territory, used counter-intelligence to push Syria into war. Having plotted long in advance these wars by provocation, and with the help of western military strategy and weapon, Israel quickly won the 6 day wars and annexed the whole Golan Height, reducing Palestine to two regions, and a reduced Western Bank and Sinaï Peninsula.

1987s: During the years following the 6 Day War, Israel started to built more and more settlement, declared illegal by the UN and the international community. The Israel controlled frontier with Palestine territories, led to several attack on village, that were either demolished or in wich were filled barril with cement, mass detention, extra-judicial killing. However to try and better control expelled Palestinians, and calm the tension, Israel started employing Palestinian for unskilled or low skilled jobs that Israelis didn't want. The rising unemployment and empoverishment, led to uprising, which exploded after the killing of a truck with Palestinian civilians. Following this, 1700 Palestinian and 60 Israeli civilians were killed, alongside armed forced on both sides. The Oslo accord settled a peace agreement.

2000s: IN spite of the Oslo accord and UN amendments, settlement continued until following the perceived provocation of an Israeli official visiting a sacred Mosque in an Israel occupied part of Jerusalem, teens throwed rocks above at people, and the police responded by killing them. AN escalation followed leading into the second intifada and massive attack of the IDF, thus leading to the creation of Palestinian refugee camps. These leds to years of massacre and response on both sides, and the death of Arafat from alleged cancer led to the democratic election of the Hamas.

2007s: Following the growing restriction of movement and freedom of Palestinian, that were required magnetic cards to move from one region to another, the second intifida eventually led later to an economic sanction decided by Israel, which led to the construction of the blocus around Gaza to prevent any goods, humanitarians aid or any other importation to go in Gaza without control from the Israel frontier authorities first. Israel now has a control over Gaza air space and water space, and Palestine is dependant on Israel for energy and water give that wells are being surveilled by IDF and power plant run on crude diesel supplied by Israel.

2014s: Following the alleged kidnapping of three Israelis teenagers that has now been declared to have nothing to do with the Hamas, Israel led an offensive over gaza by bombing the Palestinian territory, and it is not the first time they are destroying hospital and schools, built by the UN, and killing civilians. The conflict is still ungoing.

I hate the fact that this is what we ended up with. It's so scary not knowing whether or not you'll live to see another day.

And looking at all the dead is horrifying, this is insane!

Terrible how it has developed like this. What makes it even worse is than it isn't likely to end soon or well.

it will end soon, israel will end this conflict or lose the help from the west.

the real fight is fought inside israel, hardcore jews against modern jews.

a big part of the population isnt happy, the radical settlers are doing everything to start a big war for a great israel, the modern jews are tired of the war and pissed because the settlements are very costly and a reason for the rockets.

Its sad and disgusting and nobody is doing anything to stop Israel.

Sorry to say but this post is really anti-Isreal:

You completely ingnored the fact that the Jewish accepted and celebrated the UN's decisision for a two state solution, and it was the Palestinians that started the civil war.

You don't even mention the attack of four neighbour Arab state on Israel the day the British mandate ended, an attack that was suppose to completely obliterate the Jewish state.

It was not the militarisation of Israel that caused the six day war, it was the mobilisation of troops bij Arab states that led Israel to initiate a suprise attack.

And the list goes on and on.

You don't even mention that Hamas is a  terrorist organisation witch is in control of Gaza, seeking complete destruction of the state of Israel.

So everyone please ignore this biased piece and do you're own reading, Wikipedia's pages on both the state of Israel and the state of Palestine containt more than enough info on the history of the region.

Just to make clear i think Israel is going way to far with their current attacks, but the way people are starting to forget history and Israel's place in the middle east(only western democracy there) is becoming really dangerous.

We can't really blame Israel for bombing public establishments when the Hamas purposely stores weapons and fires rockets from them. It makes Israel look very bad but that's exactly what the Hamas wants.

I really doubt it will end soon. Israel can't end it. They probably could go into Gaza and murder everyone in there, but that wouldn't end it that would just intensify it. How would all the over Arab/Muslim populations in that region react if Israel were to do that?

israel can and will end it, they will force the settlers to come back to the mainstate and negotiate with the moderate palestiniens.

the arabs are as tired of war as the israelis. but they cant stop fighting because there is no way without auslong as rightwing israelis  make em struggle.  when the israelis push back the rightwing it will be easy, and if they fail they will go away and israel will be so weaked that they have to give up pushing for fights.

apparition should be appearance....right?

+1!

"I know! Let's completely ignore that Hamas is the aggressor here and blame it all on Israel! Hamas isn't using innocents as shields!"

The BuShA owns all!

Are facts like that really important?

Apparently not in the OP. Israel is responsible for all the violence.
