Forums - Gaming Discussion - How do you think Nintendo should use the Wii U gamepad

http://plebegaming.wordpress.com/2014/07/26/upcoming-uses-for-the-wii-u-game-pad/

One of the Wii U's biggest failures has been the failure to illustrate why the game pad is really needed. There are some games that use it well, W101 and Zombi U being the most notable, but there's not enough there to really sell a system on. So what uses could you come up with, or what would really appeal to you?

I personally want more of the asymmetrical gameplay that's planned for Mario Party 10, but in a series I'd care more about.

As for what's the best for sales though, it's hard to go wrong with the amiibo. I had no idea how big Skylanders was, and that series was made from scratch. With a ready made audience for amiibo, the numbers could get ridiculous very fast.

As a coaster.

Before E3 I said that this was their last chance to prove the gamepad, and they proved why it was needed. They are doing everything they should be doing with it.

I think the biggest appeal of the gamepad for me is that you don't have to play on the television always. I can lay on my back and play games, like a handheld. However, I think strategy based games like Pikmin 3 gain the largest advantage, and Nintendo should really capitalize on this. Possibly release a new Battalion Wars game with an AA budget, a new Wii U Fire Emblem, and/or a possibly an Advanced Wars console game. The best functionality of the Wii Mote was its IR and to me the best functionality of the Wii U is its touch screen tablet controls.

Make it compatible for pc... More cause I want to use it for photoshop and less for business reasons

Just like in WWHD and Deus Ex. Non intrusively. I seriously can't go back to playing any exploration game without a second screen for the map. It's way too convenient. Same with reading text on the gamepad instead of far away on the TV screen. That's the kind of stuff the Gamepad is awesome at and that's what justifies it for me.

The thing needs a serious remodel, though. It may not be uncomfortable per se, but there is definitely a gap in comforability between the pro controller and the gamepad and that needs to be resolved. It really does need to be a little smaller and a lot more ergonomically similar to the pro controller, especially when it comes to the grip shape and the L&R bumpers.

It should feel like a controller with a screen, not a tablet with controller buttons.

I think theyve done a pretty good job with it. Used it well for games where it makes sense and less for games where it didnt.

I like how you're thinking.

It could be used like the PSS on Pokemons X and Y for future online RPG games that's like Pokemon.

If there is a future twitch app, then it could be used as a screen for what your stream would look like on a cpu so you can view your chat window and subscribers.
