Are you sure about that part? I personally can't even name more than 5 released ps4 games and I have one. Note that I don't pay any attention to Indies though.

I could name 15 of the top of my head now, but it would seem that I googled them, so I'll refrain from doing so.

Same as I'm sure XOne has at least 15 games not on PS4.

Both consoles have plenty of games, it's just a matter of preference.

Kinect was the least of MS's problems at launch. They had really pathetic (positive) mindshare in comparison to Sony.

Its a combination of forced Kinect, DRM shitstorm and resolutiongate.

And the NSA spying.

which is why i added more diverse. personally, i can't think of any games on xbox i would want that didn't release on ps4 first except plants vs zombies. ori too but that isn't out till this holiday. note that i don't pay attention to dudebro games though.

Well, to be fair, if I had an X1, my only game would be Killer instinct so I consider both consoles to be in the same boat regarding their dearth of games. I just thought it was disinginuous to claim the ps4 was much better off. I personally don't count indie games as part of a library because it's easy to pad libraries that way which is what is currently going on.

No I'm not talking about "dudebro" games or whatever that means.

I'm not saying X1 is better. I'm saying both are equally bad. Their libraries are mostly indies right now and a gen ago, we won't have been counting those. It's just the new wave now for whatever reason

Actually, Kinectless helped Xbox. Every 180 helped the sales. If MS insisted with the original plan, they wouldn't even be here anymore. But Xone take the lead that they want is a hard-to-impossible achievement because they think with dollars, not with people's experience in mind.

They wanted everyone to have a "Windows" experience. You know, watch TV and such, and games were a secondary thing. Gamers didn't accept that, multimedia should be secondary. So it's a combination of bad decisions, not only Kinect, that hurted their sales.

3DS, Wii, PSP, Vita, PS2, PS3, PS4 & Steam.

Were

Consoles sell to a much larger audience and games alone isn't of absolute importance just primary importantance.

OT: DRM Gate hurt it appeal with hardcore, while price hurt its mainstream appeal. Kinect was attributed to price increase so its requirement was akin to defending its higher pricetag similar to Sony circa 06.

Had it been 399 from the start, XB1 would be around 6-8 mil right now. DRM hurt its enthusiast appeal which affects the strength of its Sales boosts, ie TitanFall would've won XB1 the March NPD. The boost could have it a lot closer to PS4 especially Globally in the US.

This quote will never die.

I think it certainly wouldn't have hurt. Launching with a Kinectless SKU would have helped enough that it would have passed Wii U by now, and might even be keeping up with PS4. I think the forced Kinect hurt the public perception of the XBO as much as the other 180s, perhaps even more, since they kept slowly changing their policies with it up to launch but never went full 180 like the did with the other unwanted policies. If anything, telling the consumer "hey, you can now unplug it, but you still have to buy it" hurt the perception more than the DRM stuff, because it showed once and for all (in the public's eyes) that the Kinect was a peripheral, not actually part of the XBO, but still forced you to buy it. If they'd just made it optional from the beginning or stuck to their guns and made the XBO not function without it, I think public perception would have been better either way than making it non essential but still forcing it.

Such stupidity, some indie games are amongst ther best of any game on next gen...please don;t start this indies are not real games nonsense. Theya re and some are fantastic. Amazes me people only want 60 dollar massive bufdget games? An industry like that will be garbage.

BS 8 months in there is a plethora of games already on next gen. It's like people never saw a launch before. They launced with some of the biggest IP in gaming, you may not like it but third party games are what drives the industry.
