Forums - Gaming Discussion - I've come to the realization that most first party Nintendo games suck.

kirby is made for children, its meant to be the easyest of the nintendo games.

It's made for anyone who loves happiness and joy when they play a video game.  I dare the angriest man in the world to look at Kirby dance and not smile.

Judging by that list yesterday, you may have a point there, especially compared to Sony's list, yes they both have duds, but Ninty have more, say, IPs not many people will remember years from now. I'm sorry childhood. ;-;

Edit: By the way, I relized that the Nintendo games I usually play is Mario, Zelda, Metroid, Star Fox, Smash, and of course........

I just relized, the Ninty games I have been playing are the same IP's, I thought I played more D:

Kirby, don't hurt me ;-;

I think Nintendo's quality has dropped off, nobody would argue the the GC era to present is better than the NES-64 gen, it's bizarre that some refuse to acknowledge it, the people making games 30 years ago at NIntendo are probably all gone or moved on/burned out. It's like the Yankees, people say they are the best team but it's different people every year, the quality can not possibly last from year to year. There are going to be bad games and good ones, and Nintendo is no different.

Personally I feel the quality dropped around the GC, there is still good stuff coming out but there is noticeably stuff they put out which is vastly inferior, mission pack sequel, predictable sequel etc. Not everything is a slam dunk these days, the 3DS stuff is more good than bad, but the console stuff has suffered, I don't feel like Nintendo knows how to make good consoles and console games like they used to, the handheld stuff though I feel I got my money's worth, but I long since got rid of my Wii U, MK8 and Smash aren't genres I'm interested in.

The games are targeted towards children and families. The demographics the characters are designed to appeal to. Everything from the color scheme to the themes implies childlike with Kirby, Mario, Yoshi and their ilk. The only teen rated games IMHO are Zelda and Metroid.

The only thing I care about from Nintendo is Zelda. That is the only game I have for the 3DS and honestly it is not worth it. It's the same game rehashed. I like the formula, but it is not exciting anymore and was not worth buying a 3DS for -which I will be trading in to buy PS4 games this fall.

Really Nintendo only has the same 3 franchises that their fans rave about. Than the other two (Mario Kart and SSB) are just spinoff games from other characters. I like 2D Metroid as well and was disappointed in Metroid Prime. Reviewers constantly overrate Nintendo games, especially Super Mario. I did not enjoy SMB either.

Good looking out on Yoshi's New Island. I was thinking about getting it, but kept hesitating and I am glad I did not pick it up. As I stated many times, there is nothing technically, creatively or artistically impressive about Nintendo games int he modern age.Their glory days are far behind them. They have not made a game as great as Ico, Uncharted 2 or TLoU IMO.

those two are not the the finest examples of Nintendo games, try Zelda

I don't play nintendo first party games anymore, not unless their new ip's. Wonderful 101 (owned by ninty) good. Mario bad

So we can assume you dont play any sequels. Uncharted 4, Gears/God of War 4, TLOU2, Halo 5, Mirrors Edge 2, Dragon Age Inquisition, GTA5. You are going to miss out on a lot of good games.

Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.

Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.

I respect that u personally dont like many Nintendo games, there is nothing wrong with that but to say they suck just because they dont appeal to u seems a bit extreme.

I dont personally like the Beatles but I recognize that they are a great and very influential band, just because I dont like them doesnt mean they suck just not my personal preference.

This has been FACT for some time now.

Most Nintendo gamer's (Along with game reviewers alike) , are most times stuck with the past love of everything Nintendo, and in so, choose not to judge Nintendo to a fair degree.

I always fall back to my main question,

" If there were to be only 1 game company in the industry for the last 15 years, which would I want it to be "

Nintendo or Sony Playstation or Microsoft XBox.

Thank god for multiple game machines.
