Naughty Dog Hires Extremely Talented Artist for Uncharted 4; Check Out His Awesome Artwork and Videos
Naughty Dog has always been well known for attracting extremely talented artists and developers, and this month they hired another that definitely fits the bill, Andrew Maximov. They also didn’t waste any time and already put him at work on Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End according to his linkedin profile.
We learn that Maximov is an expert with Unreal Engine 4, physically based rendering, shader creation, scripting, particle effects and also works on concept art. He can “set up some of the most efficient art production pipelines in the industry, fully including next gen” and do “Lighting-fast full environment production (ideation, conception, blockout, modeling, texturing, shaders, set dressing, lighting & atmospherics)”
Maximov previously worked at Wargaming (on Order of War and World of Tanks), and then collaborated as a freelance at several projects like Natural Selection II, Modern Combat 4 and several unannounced games, also working with Gameloft Montreal and Kixeye, before finally landing at Naughty Dog.
If you’re curious on why Sony’s first party developer selected him for the job, his work really speaks for itself. I can’t honestly say I’ve seen such an incredible attention to detail very often.
