Hey guys, I made a similar post a while back about some gamers on YouTube taking the console war too far but this is different. What do you think of the gaming community on YouTube as a whole? Not Lets Players but people who voice their opinions in the gaming community on YouTube. People like Doctre81 Shokio ReviewTechUSA NxtGen720 Blackb0nd and many others.

My thoughts: it really is not a gaming community anymore but more like a bunch of gamers "exposing" one another. It is pretty stupid in my opinion. NxtGen720 and Blackb0nd have been at it for a long while talking about NxtGen720s 12k Gaming PC and #colapes. Doctre81 and Blackb0nd also have been at each other about the Wii U. Shokio hasnt posted in a long time and RTU is trying to be as professional as possible and report on news. Interaction is nice between people and all but not when you call them homosexual, a social reject, and talking about peoples grandmas a$$e$!

I have had an urge to join them and create another channel to try to bring in some light onto the community. Just voice my opinion as well as interact with them in an orderly way.

So my two questions here:

How do you guys feel about the YouTube Gamer Community?

Would you guys support me if I ever do join the community?

LMAO! I honestly feel Blackb0nd has some kind of issue. The way he communicates with others, especially the Nintendo community. Calling them "social rejects" and crying in comment sections, etc. His videos have just become full circle with the Day # of the $12,000 PC, a Definitive Exposure video, and then some 3rd party PC game where he talks up PC gaming. Rest of his videos are shots at MS, and Nintendo, while praising Sony to appease his audience.

Doctre makes pretty much the same predictable Nintendo video. Same could be same for nxtgen720 for Xbox. Brokengamez recycles N4G articles throughout his videos, and the rest I just don't even pay attention to. The "crumb side" of YT is pretty much a joke, and thankfully not many people watch them.

The only one I watch for real entertainment is Shokio and he doesn't make videos anymore. The biggest issue with the YT gaming community is their ability, or lack there of, to asses something objectively. Not many do that, which is a shame. Most are too interested defending their favorite plastic box; sad state of affairs.

Edit: The main thing is that so many people on there are just obsessed with "exposing" one another. I thought at one point I may make videos, but who wants to be apart of that community?

They are all utter morons making themselves and the gaming community look retarded. And I'd really advise you to not get involved with them, those people are immune against rational arguments anyway and will never admit to being wrong (example: doctre with that whole definitive version of third party games stuff that he is still being made fun off for), so you'd eventually just get pulled into their stupidity, just stay out of that cesspit.

I fully agree with you, but these people give gamers a bad name and they also cause the normal gamers to be as distorted. When I go to Doctre81s comment section, hell the majority of these peoples comment sections all I see is one person commenting how he likes one console then 20 people cursing each other out over which console is better. That is why I urged to make a channel to draw gamers away from that. As of debates, I wont debate with any of these idiots. I will respond to them in videos in a brief way but not where I can provide them an oppurtunity to expose me.

I am asking whether VGChartz members would support me not just to get views, but because we are rational people who can carry out a discussion without someone calling anyone a social reject.

My opinion of them is low for the most part. Those that would happily recommend a product without mentioning they are getting paid to promote it for example (like the incident a little while back). They are those that got lucky and seem to whine at the smallest of issues that might affect their youtube "career" (like companies not wanting youtubers to advertise on their products).

However there are a few I do like, XboxAhoy is fantastic as he produces quality productions that aren't just some 15 yr old talking rubbish and playing badly.

If you were to join come up with something original, don't just record gameplay and then talk rubbish over it, there's hundreds of them, all doing it badly I might add.

Hmm, pie.

Problem with that is that Youtube as whole is a horrible place to have a good discussion, way too many kids and just people that know they can say anything they want without ever facing consequences, it's like these comment sections bring the worst out in people.

I get what you want to do, but I honestly feel it would be futile, if you want to make a Youtube channel about gaming then more power to you, just don't try to interact with that group of youtubers, it's a road that leads nowhere.

I have no idea who those people are. The only gaming channel i follow is penguiz0.

I agree completely.
