It's like you don't know what everyone here is talking about, rehashes. Google it, then try and ask the same question.

Not to pick fights, but YOU try googling it. It's not a real term, and even inside the gaming community people are in violent disagreement about its meaning.

Lmao, really? You are going to say that the game he listed are not Mario rehashes? Keep telling yourself that buddy.

WarioWare (Micro game compilation)

Donkey Konga/Jungle Beat (Rhythm game)

Mario & Luigi  (RPG)

Mario Strikers (Soccer)

Mario & Sonic at the Olympics (Track & Field, Winter Sports)

Mario vs Donkey Kong  (Puzzle game)

Ok. I will repeat. This thread was SIMPLY about how Nintendo is about more than a handful of IPs!!! It is to refute those who claim otherwise. Regardless if in house or published. NO WHERE does the original topic mention Sony or even MS. It does not list this to compare to other platforms. It was ONLY to point out Nintendo is more than Mario, Zelda, Pokemon, Donkey Kong, Kirby etc. So again I say you've missed the point of the original poin

Tell me, not including Mario,Zledo, Pokemon, Donkey, Kirby, who is to say how many new IPs Nintendo owns is a lot? Owning 1 or 2 new ips since the Wii U release date, who is to say that is a little or a lot? No one, that is why you compare it with Microsoft and Sony.

Example, if Sony owned 20 new IPs since the PS4 launch and the Wii U 5, are you going to say that Nintendo owns a lot? No, that is why you compare. I'm sure that is what people have been doing, when they look at Sony's new IP on PS3 and then Nintendos New IPs on Wii, my god, Wii era, barely any new IP. Look at the Wii's new IP list, lmao....

Ok, but that really didn't seem the point comparing to Sony at all. You're right who says a lot is a lot and a little is a little. If I take the comparison to be completely accurate it still doesn't mean anything. Do they have less than Sony, again according to the list, yes. But that still doesn't mean the 71 listed for Nintendo since 2001 is 'not' a lot. I could say Nintendo is a smaller company so maybe for their size to game release they have created more - I am just saying as reference. I am not trying to legitimately make that correlation. So this stil takes me back to the initial point, Nintendo is more than just Mario and a few other IPs. They have published or created many other IPs since 2001.

I will probably be ignored but anyway: How can a game series not be considered as an own IP just because there is Mario in the name?
There are many IPs that are successful that have nothing but the name "Mario" to do with the original concept of Mario = Side scrolling Plattformer, or its "evolution" 3D Mario = 3D free running Plattformer.

Here are some that does not even have "Mario" in the title:
Luigi's Mansion - 2001, 2013 (Action/Adventure) Total sales: ~7 millions
WarioWare - 2003, 2004, 2006, 2008, 2009 (Micro game compilation) Total sales: ~8 millions
Donkey Konga (Jungle Beat) - 2003 2004 2008 (Rhythm game) Total sales: ~3 millions

Here are the "Mario" games:
Mario & Luigi - 2003, 2005, 2009, 2013 (RPG) Total sales: ~1 millions
Mario Strikers - 2005, 2007 (Sports game) Total sales: ~4 millions
Mario & Sonic at the ... - 2007, 2008, 2009, 2012, 2013 (Sports game) Total sales: ~22 millions
Mario vs Donkey Kong - 2004 2006 2010 (Puzzle game) Total sales: ~5 millions
Mario Sluggers (Baseball) - 2005, 2008 (Sports game) Total sales: ~3 millions

And some that began on the N64:
Mario Tennis - First game 2000 (Sports game) Total sales: ~7 millions
Paper Mario - First game 2000 (RPG) Total sales: ~9 millions
Mario Party - First game 1998 (Mini game compilation) Total sales: ~36 millions
Mario Golf - First game 1999 (Sports game) Total sales: ~4 millions

I was thinking the very same thing!! Mario Kart has DEFINITELY become it's own IP. All the ones you listed are great examples too.

Yes, you are right but this thread was limited to 6th, 7th & 8th generation of new IPs. From the time MS entered the race.

Dude, you just don't get it. Rehashes.

Rehash - to rework, reuse, or make over (old or already used material)

I won't be telling myself they're not, as nothing told me they were in the first place. There's not reason to claim they're rehashes.

This has got to be a joke. Nintendo published considerably more new IP during the Wii and DS era than Sony did.
