Forums - Sony Discussion - PS4's voice commands

I tried them out for the first time today with my headset (don't have the camera). I was actually surprised to find they worked flawlessly on my first attempt every time, and I am a non-native speaker.

That said, I'm probably never gonna use them again, because, you know, buttons. The UI is well designed enough that a voice command is never gonna save you time over a couple of button presses.

Have you tried them? Do you use them?

No troll is too much for me to handle. I rehabilitate trolls, I train people. I am the Troll Whisperer.

i have the camera, i tried them. they dont always work for me (even though my english accent is pretty good). however they are utterly useless. voice commands simply suck, its so much faster with the controller.

TBH I've used them once: when I couldn't find a game because all my PS+ games are still tjere, with all games I've bought and all f2p games.

are you telling me you have so many games that you have a hard time finding them?  but what about the PS4 has no gamez?

I've seen video's of them on YouTube. It seems to be simple but it works well. But just as you say, you might as well use buttons..

Yeah playing Tomb Raider I stumbled onto voice commands with my headset, although I don't use them ever.

Is it possible that not all games can be started with voice commands? I wanted to start Towerfall the other day using voice commands but it didn't work.
I said Towerfall, Towerfall Ascension and only Ascension but neither got accepted. Maybe it's may accent but the other stuff works fine, so I doubt it.

Never use them, they are kinda pointless to me. But at least, if someone wants to use them, they can just say into the headset instead of yelling at the camera across the room.

I've used them when i was demonstrating the console to someone for that wow factor lol. But in reality i never use them as my fingers are not broken to press a button to achieve the same effect. If you had to maybe press 20 times to get where you wanted, then i could understand someone using and preffering the voice commands.

Same here..it was nice the first time...but got very gimmicky....my brother was impressed that it work very well, as well as the Xbox voice command.
