Forums - Gaming Discussion - NONE of my friends own an 8th Gen System.

Probably because you can get 90% of the PS4/X1 catalog on PS3/X360. I am in the same boat one hardcore gaming friend with PS4/X1, I got an X1(got it because I wanted to maximise my Gold subscription); but everyone else I know isnt in yet. Hell, I never even play my X1 cause there is so much on last gen.

The hardcore(by that I mean people that play/but lots of games) are bought in. The current gen wont see its best years for a few years.

Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.

Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.

Let's look this at a different angle. If we were to use one of your friend's point of view, actually, one of his friends do actually own an 8th Gen System. You.

It's the same for me as none of my friends bought a 8th gen console yet and it doesn't seem that they are actualy interested in them at all. They are still enjoying their last gen console (and good games are still coming out for them). Also they have computers for good grafics, I think they are waiting for out of the ordinary game and a good price point to jump on the 8th gen wagon.

Mine hasnt made the jump yet and see no reason to.. Cant really blame them since most just play fifa, cod and gta. All of these havent got a next gen exclusive yet. Come to think of it i only know 2 people other than myself who has gone into current gen. A good friend of mine got a wii u on launch day and a colleague bought a ps4 this spring when he finally could find some stock (made the mistake of not preordering from the first batch). The people i knpw who hasnt upgraded is well aware of the new systems.. Wii u is seen like a joke to most though and the xbox one no one knows about but that might be due to it havent launched in my country yet. I even heard someone think that titanfall was a pc exclusive.

I knew what this was about from the title alone. "It's not too late for the WiiU and we can still win this"

It's like everyone needs to upgrade in the first year for some to understand how this thing works. I mean it's not like we're on a sales website ;)

i was i the category of not buying a PS4

however eBay AUS had a 20% coupon and DSE (aussie will know what I mean) had already discounted the console by 8%, so 28% off with coupon got me down to 399 AUD. An offer I could not refuse.

Sadly 1300 people took up the offer so still waiting for it to be shipped...

Much of this depends on where you are in life.

As a kid I got systems at the middle to end of their life cycle because they were finally in price range. Then in high school finally had discretionary funds so bought PS2 as so as I could. Then went to University and lean times so waited a bit to jump on last gen. Now out the other side with stable income and no issue getting a PS4 at launch.

I look at the sales figures and regardless of anecdotes their is pretty clear hunger for a new generation and I expect this holiday and a packed 2015 to see the flood gates open for millions more to move on.

I just got a ps4.

Let's be friends :)
