I found it extremely annoying, but I stopped playing my 360 often, so I forget how poorly it's done.

I would make a big deal about them but you just scroll right past them like the ones on PSN. It's not like a Youtube ad you have to watch before a video. Or Hulu Plus, which charges a monthly fee but still has commercials. Or, you know, television.

I have found an overwhelming majority of the ads I have noticed are ones I have noticed because they are gaming related. I don't have an issue with any company advertising things on their marketplace on their marketplace.

I honestly barely notice the ads.

Also, they aren't always there. I just booted my 360 a little while ago and there was a big ad for games on sale.

From my experience I believe most of the ads are related to games and deals you can get with the 360.  Hell, if MS did not post those deals on the home screen I would never know those deals are going on most of the time.  Most of the time they have informatgion revelant to what is going on with the eco system within XBL so I do not mind as much.  Either I am playing games or going directly to my favorites and picking one of the Apps I like to use.

I notice the absence of ads since I don't bother to hook it up online anymore. Lot of empty squares in the dashboard, crappy interface. Don't really notice it though, I have it set to auto play discs, 'problem' solved.

I don't even notice it on either my 360 or X1. They don't affect my gaming in the least so why should I care? And ofcourse MS gather information, google does it too, Sony does it as well so why be so scared of MS actually showing the results of the information they have gathered?

I've noticed them, but I actually like them because I'm somewhat a bargain hunter and like to know what's on sale etc.

I'm subbed to some amazon, bestbuy newsletters too and don't mind get those "on sale" newsletters in my email. I look through them and see if something peaks my interest while im taking my morning dump before heading off to work.

Why are gamers such whiney babies?? What's on every fucking newspaper, magazine, bluray or sports match you BOUGHT? That's right, ADZZZ!!!

Are people crying on the internet because of this? No. Why? Because they aren't gamers I guess...

Wait... thats a thing? Huh, I never knew that lolll. Are they annoying? It kinda seems weird that u would get ads on ur dashboard of all places... Like I get getting ads on the store but dashboard? Hmm

6 out of the 9 tiles are ads on the homescreen.

Wow... I never seen a paid things have ads on the home screen before... Cause I mean, you paid for them, I would expect the home screen to be filled with like screenshots of already owned games or picture gallary and etc, not ads... Specially if you pay for gold... Just man, that company lolll! First they popularize paid online and now this, come on MS. I wish people would do something, next thing you know there will be ads on playstation (if there aren't already cause I dont have a ps4 so idk) and then Nintendo after... T_T

Least its not annoying but the idea that they can get away with it actually bothers be to a degree cause imo, it doesn't really show respect to the consumers that pay for their services

I cant remember xbox 360 too much but i can remember it being not that bad, usually stuff on games. But on x1 its like non existent in comparison there are three ads partially visible pertaining to updates (i dont think thats an ad), xbox live rewards and a game sale. Like its about 5 cm of the left side of the ad with he other 95% of the screen your pins and stuff. I think its blown out of proportion a little. The xbox 360 i think had alot of game ads for upcoming games, like major releases. I dont really mind it, microsoft collects data though but they are pretty shit at it, google, apple, and sony do it better tbh.

You got a facefull of ads? I barely notice them. And they never prevented me from enjoying games. I'm not saying it's great to have ads but I don't think it's that big of an issue...

I know for a fact that on the Xbox One there are as many as 3-4 titles showing ads for games/music/videos at any one time. The "Featured" part of the screen takes up the entire right side on the home tab. 3 random ads just waiting there.

I dont thinks thats true though, im looking at it right now and its three partially visible ads (2 really) one is for recent updates and stuff, xbox live rewards program and a game sale. like its barely 5% of the screen. Edit: 360 ones i think were pretty terrible but i really never noticed them, just played games. The way the xbox ui is set out makes alot of room for ads though, i think the x1 is really acceptable.
