I dont mind ads, as long as they aren't like vgchartz where they take up the whole screen or have time limits like youtube videos, I mean more money means more games/better games right?

Seeing as that the majority of the screen is full of things that have nothing to do with my own games, yes. I want that space reserved for my own content, not what Microsoft thinks I'd like.

Well, Microsoft has been getting money from Xbox Live, game sales, entertainmet sales, etc.

They are the only console manufacturer that pulls this to such a large degree, even though they are also (by far) the most financially successful.

The ads on the 360/X1's dashboards are pretty ridiculous. Most xbox owners are probably used to them by now, but to anyone either new to the platform or turning their console on for the first time in a while, the ads can be pretty damn obnoxious.

Still, i can't blame them. Being able to roll out ads to millions of people who share the same hobby is an advertising wet dream.

Ahh, you meant all of that! Thought you meant when there is a small window with as example a Ford ad. 

Well, I'm fine with this kind of ads. It's about stuff you find on the marketplace of the console and I'm not sure why they sshouldn't have that there? I though people buy a console because they want to use stuff they can buy for this console.

And no, I'm not gving up on gaming at all, I've got other consoles plenty, and I don't use my 360 much anyway. It just doesn't seem right that this is completely OK.

Wow... I never seen a paid things have ads on the home screen before... Cause I mean, you paid for them, I would expect the home screen to be filled with like screenshots of already owned games or picture gallary and etc, not ads... Specially if you pay for gold... Just man, that company lolll! First they popularize paid online and now this, come on MS. I wish people would do something, next thing you know there will be ads on playstation (if there aren't already cause I dont have a ps4 so idk) and then Nintendo after... T_T

Least its not annoying but the idea that they can get away with it actually bothers be to a degree cause imo, it doesn't really show respect to the consumers that pay for their services
