If you scroll past the home and social tabs you will get to the games section of the dashboard. On the top left hand corner there is a a square with a symbol of an xbox controller and the words "My Games". If you click on this square you will see all of your games. It literally takes less than two seconds to do everything I've stated above.

You're welcome.

What does that have to do with number of games owned? that tab is there on a new xbox out of the packet as are the portions of each window which are dedicated to adverts. Don't start one half a statement and then start talking about something 3 tabs away, no amount of game buying makes the adverts move or go away.

End of story.

There are about 10 panels in the games section. If you have more than 10 games you wouldn't be able to see them all there anyways. When you click the games tab it is infinitely scrollable so you can see all your games. That is what I am referring to when I said they wouldn't all fit there.

That circle around the panel with is reserved for Adverts... actually nothing of that panel is the games I actually own, 3 adverts to buy various games (walking dead, transformers and buy gold) and 3 panels with recommendations based on games I have either played or rated on the store... nothing of this has anything to do with the hundred+ games I have. Like I said, no amount of buying games moves the adverts from your dashboard.

You make it seem like your traversing the amazon with a 100 pound ruck sack to get to the games tab. Its two maybe three clicks of the d-pad and one click of the a button.  You do realize you can just ignore the ads right?

Excuse my edit skillz...

Apparently we are talking about two different things. I never said that buying games moves the adverts from the dashboard. Not sure where you got that from.

Look if your issue is that you are against the ads from a principled standpoint I get that. I agree with that. But if your reason for not liking the ads is because it makes it difficult to navigate then I think thats BS.

For me personally, even if there were no ads I would still prefer for things to be sectioned off into their own corners where I click them when I want to see them. I don't want my games or movies or music just automatically loaded. Give me tabs for games , movies, music and if I want to expand I can navigate to that section. This is why I hate the ps4 interface. If I have played 10 games it just loads them all up like ducks in a row as soon as I boot up. That is annoying because a lot of times it keeps games that I've only borrowed and don't even have anymore directly on the main page where they are just taking up space for not reason.

When did I say I found it hard to navigate? I said that it would be nice to be able to put my own content on the homescreen and adjust it like that, instead of being met with a bunch of ads as soon as I turn it on.

Look, if you like to make Microsoft some extra cash which they don't really need, that's fine. Don't expect everyone to be exactly like you. The majority of the people in the poll just said they don't appreciate ads. I don't care if it is still easy to navigate, I already said in the OP that I paid $300 for my console and $60 more per year for network and I still got ads. Or did you not bother to read it?

I also found it odd that the Xbox would have ads on there homescreen and PS3 didn't. You would think the service you pay for would be ad free but I guess in gaming its the other way around XP

I always found it funny that they made you pay for XBL and then flooded the dash with ads that pay for XBL.

Gotta double up on that cash lol

My original comment was only in reference to what you (or possibly someone else) said about having a lot of games and therefore the ads got in the way of accessing those games. If you just have a problem with the fact that Microsoft is double dipping then you won't get any argument from me. I think anyone who pays for Xbox Live Gold has a legitimate reason to be pissed off. I don't pay for Xbox Live gold so I'm not in a position to complain about it. As far as I'm concerned those ads are nothing but window dressing as I make my way to the app I'm looking for.

I definitely understand being against the ads in principle, particularly in Microsoft's case, but in practice they don't bother me. I don't care that a company is making money that "they don't need' (whatever that means), Why shouldn't they make money? As long as it isn't obtrusive what do I care that they are making some extra cash from ads? If anything I'd encourage Sony to do the same. They could definitely use the extra cash, and if its as unobtrusive as the ads on Xbox dashboard it is not going to bother me one bit.

Lol... complete misunderstanding then. I meant if you had a lot of GAMES the GAMES would not all fit in the 10 panel GAME section. I wasn't talking about ads not fitting or not seeing ads. GAMES!
