Forums - Gaming Discussion - How big of a win is Destiny for PS4?

A couple years ago an article was published talking about a "leaked document" saying that Bungie's New IP would be 1-year timed-exclusive for the next gen Xbox.

Then Bungie finally showed Destiny for the first time, just a couple days before the PS4 reveal. Many people thought MS/Bungie were trying to steal some of Sony's thunder.

But.... then Bungie walked on stage during the PS4 conference and shocked everyone.

Not only was Destiny going to be on PS4 on day 1, but PS4 was going to get exclusive content and Bungie formed a long term marketing partnership with Sony.

Then E3 came around last year and Destiny first gameplay reveal was at the Sony conference.

This year they revealed that Destiny Alpha was PS4 exclusive, and PS4 was getting earlier access to the Beta.

They also revealed that PS4 would be getting an exclusive white-PS4 bundle with Destiny.

and then the exclusive content was finally revealed. "unique co-op Strike located on Mars, an exclusive competitive map, and a slew of exclusive guns, gear, and ships" making the PS4 version the clear cut definitive version.

Destiny has a massive marketing budget, and will surely feature the PS4 logo at the end. This will probably be the best selling PS4 game when it comes out.

It's been a long, continuous, agonizing road to Destiny for Bungie fans who are not PlayStation owners. How big of a win is Destiny for PS4? It seems like the most hyped game right now and will surely have huge sales.

It's a massive win and just one more stomp to the head the PS4 is giving to the downed XB1.

That white PS4 is the biggest win for us, simple beautiful.

Indeed.

Not to mention, people who buy special edition versions of Destiny on non-PlayStation consoles will be paying extra and still not getting all 100% of the content!

looking forward to my white ps4 arriving.

if it was exclusive, then id say it was a big win, but since its not, i cant bring myself to say ''big win for ps4''.

White PS4's are pretty sexy though

360/xboxone beta started today,  compare the buzz between ps and xb fans,  its like night and day,  almost feels like the xbox fans are so salty about the ps favoritism by bungie that they cant bring themselves to like it.

exclusive content, exclusive advertising, exclusive alpha, early beta access, exclusive console bundle, and bungie only being at Sony conferences while completely ingnoring MS......

Sales wise it might get PS4 more new-users than Titanfall did for XB1. Remember, Bungie has a huge fanbase and many of them were diehard Xbox fans. Now they will all want to play the best version of Destiny on PS4.

I think it's a win but we won't know until it releases how big of an impact it will have.

I think its pretty huge! Considering the hype around it, I think it will sell both systems and software on the ps4 a lot
