Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Does the new miiverse update pretty much prove Nintendo is putting out a gamepadless Wii U this Christmas?

There will never be a second gamepad thingy.

Who knows.. Maybe they are simply offering the option of navigating the eShop with other controllers? I don't think this confirms a GamePad-less Wiiu or something..

Maybe a new revision, but no gamepadless version.
Even many games that you can play with the Pro Controller alone won't start without the GamePad.

I don't see it happening. Mainly because they would need to patch many games for Gamepad-less play (like certain levels in Super Mario 3D World that can't be completed without the gamepad).

Their only option if they went that route would be to add "Requires a Gamepad" on the boxes of games where it is impossible to play without it and that's not really ideal.

Signature goes here!

You mean Wii U Firmware Update? I mean .. has nothing to do with miiverse dude?!

Amiibo counters any evidence people can come up with and more...this is just a usability thing

Never said there would ,old sport, just said Nintendo is def. dropping the gamepad for a gamepadless Wii U.

E3 confirmed that Nintendo is never dropping the gamepad. The whole "Kinect" thing might prove them right in the end.

In the wilderness we go alone with our new knowledge and strength.

Dropping the Gamepad right after announcing Amiibo?

And every single E3 Nintendo game uses the Gamepad as something other than second screen?

Of course not.
