Forums - Gaming Discussion - Why I don't like the Wii U, but will buy it anyway.

I..

Don't like the Wii U and won't buy it 24 9.49%

Don't like the Wii U but... 32 12.65%

like the Wii U but somehow won't buy it 18 7.11%

Like the Wii U but didn'... 102 40.32%

Coward with no opinion. 76 30.04%

Total:252

So you are sad that the "failure" of the WiiU will have a negative effect on Nintendo´s future console output......but don´t want to support them in the near future anyway.

Ok !

Edit: Not to mention that you didn´t even specify WHY you don´t like the WiiU....you know....like the title implied.

And I love how arrogant the "Coward with no opinion" option in the poll makes you look. That was unnecessary.

You don´t like it until you have one. Then you´ll love it.

I love my Wii U and esp love Wonderful 101. It's been overwhelming for me while I liked Wii owned many games it had so many dry spells. WiiU I don't have that because while waiting for retail releases it offers plenty in indies and VC. I always end up with all the systems and in 5 years I may pick PS4 over my WiiU as I picked PS3 over my Wii in fave system of it's gen. As it stands now Wii U is a great system to have for me. I esp am excited for Bayonetta 2,Devils Third and Xenoblade X.

Xenoblade. I hate the Wii U and all the childish games including Zelda but I need to play this game. Potentially the best JRPG ever made on any system.

Such a lovely thread. This made my day.

I don't like it either, but I've already bought one. Despite it's failing I'm sure Nintendo will make another console though, hope the next one is much better.

This. The console is crap imo, bought it for smash and thats about it (interested in X and fire emblem but not much more).

Of course, like any sane people, in fact working in an analytic agency, I knew the Wii U would fail.
And there was no need to wait for it's release, we actually won clients by predicting exactly how it would sell and fail, badly, because the problems don't come from the market, players, medias or publishers but just the Wii U:

It's a failed concept, marketing and hardware.

BUT, like any true game, I can't pass a generation without playing the few but important Nintendo exclusives there will be on Wii U: Mario Kart 8, Wonderful 101, Bayonetta 2, SSB, Zelda 2015 or Star Fox 2015.

but the thing is that by the time I buy it (when they redesign it and drop the price),  games will have dropped in price too and/or the Wii U will probably have been pirated or emulated.

And that's what I'm sad for: the Wii U will be a financial (so where not just talking about profit but stocks) failure, and the 3DS won't be able to save since it's already stagnating around 40 millions (won't sell more than 70/80 millions lifetime, which is barelly what PS3/X360 or PSP sold).

And when that happens, there are chances that you can't find the ressources and confidence to release a next console. As a true game who already witness the fall of Sega (who made one of the greatest console however: the Dreamcast), and the failure of one of my favorite console (the Gamecube, man that was crazy quality Nintendo), I'd be shocked if they didn't.

What about you? (No, not you the completely detached from reality fan) Are you one of those who don't care or don't like the Wii U but know they'll buy it eventually because you can't miss some of the few great games there'll be on it?

There's a flaw in your poll. You didn't account for the current owners of a Wii U.

You're wrong: the last poll option says 'Like the Wii U but didn't not buy it yet, and will'.

'Didn't not buy it yet' implies you bought it.

The Wii U won't be emulated, it's too powerfull a Power PC machine to decently emulate, look at the Xbox 360 and PS3, emulatipn there is near nonexistant

Actually the slow release of emulator for 360 and PS3 is just due to the amount of time it takes to develop and the need for the emulators, nothing to do with the power of PCs.

Emulators for older consoles are about because not everyone still has a SNES, NES, Megadrive and so on, or it will be inconvenient to setup,

but everyone who currently wants to play 360 or ps3 games will either have one of the consoles or can get hold of one cheaply.

The Xbox One removing the backwards compatibality is what prompted the development of an emulator, and from what i have read it is coming along slowly but surely.

Current Game Machines: 3DS, Wii U, PC.

Currently Playing: X-Com(PC), Smash Bros(WiiU), Banner Saga(PC), Guild Wars 2(PC), Project X Zone(3DS), Luigis Mansion 2(3DS), DayZ(PC)

I don't like it and won't be getting one. The games just aren't there for me.
