The number is meaningless. It's how well they're selected that matters.

I'd say that's still part of the Mario Kart hangover. Encouraging that the baseline has stayed around 60K. Let's see if the upcoming releases can lift it before making bold assertions.
This is interesting for several reasons. First, it shows that buyers are not fools. They do get impressed by impressive content, and let down by weak showing. Second, it also shows that good content (Zelda, Xeno, B2) and new content (Splatoon, MM) can impress. Third, it shows that the dominant hype of PS4 has been reduced a bit, with X1( a little) and Wii U ( a lot) gaining interest. Fourth, it correlates perfectly with recent VGC sales reporting, which is perhaps most fascinating.
It really seems that the market share right now going forward is PS4 at around >40%PS4 - >30%Wii U -

They asked "core gamers"
Also I think this speaks very much for how representative this survey is:
"In terms of anticipated games, consumers are champing at the bit for 2015's third-party releases, with Warner's Arkham Knight leading the charge with an incredible 60 per cent of those surveyed intending to buy the game for at least one platform. Gamers are slightly less excited for 2014's titles, but Activision's Destiny is the narrow leader for this year, edging out AC: Unity and GTA V with just under 50 per cent. Both Battlefield Hardline and CoD: Advanced Warfare are lagging behind slightly."

That's my undercover name. Since it doesn't set a good example to argue with people as a mod, I have an alt that does that for me.
Interesting. PS4 fell slightly but its still so high. Wii U rose a lot, and X1 rose a little but its slightly behind the Wii U.
That doesn't surprise me. I saw a lot of comments on Youtube and forums where people said that the Direct changed their opinion.
I think the Ps4 drop is because they already had the console :P
Happy for Nintendo boost because cost cutting actually helped them in the long run ;)
Consoles: 3DS, Wii U, and Vita soon. Super Paper Mario fan.
