Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Does MS have an IP that on level with Gears or Halo that we don't know about?

I ask this question because MS gave up on Black Tusks new game to go continue status quo with Gears of War. So....where is the new IP that will take over when Halo and Gears get old? Did I miss anything at E3? Sure, MS has a lot of fun games that pass the time like Dance Central Spotlight, Forza Horizon, Ori and the Blind Forest, Crackdown and more. Where is the heavy hitter that will show Microsofts internal investment in the future of the company? Please....don't say Scalebound. MS isnt even making that and I know that wont be huge. I love platinum but they make great filler games to pass the time.

Not yet.

If it's one we don't know about, what are we supposed to say here?

i think they will go back to the black tusk ip once gears is out

In honesty, maybe they do or maybe they don't but we don't know so...

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

They certainly have IPs in the pipeline that they believe will be of that level. All companies do. The fact that we don't know about them though leads one to believe they probably aren't going to be released in the immediate future.

If they wanted they could bring back Jet Force Gemini but make it gritty. I would hate that but just saying if they wanted they good.

I expect they're working on something they hope will be, but no, they don't have any recently released/announced titles likely to match anything close to the sales potential of Halo or Gears.

No one has much of anything like that right now. The only new exclusive IP to hit those types of sales recently is TLOU.

Halo = Zelda
Gears = Donkey Kong

These games will never get old because the fans of the franchise are a very large base of users who have been around since the first game. Most people will tell you that they bought xbox OG for Halo. It's those same fans that have stuck around and helped bring buzz and interest to the game for years and years to come. Unfortunately, MS won't be able to come up with another game like those two unless they release a game that completely changes the industry, and it's increasingly difficult by the day as they lose marketshare, because even if they release a game of that calibur it still needs the consumer support to reach that level.

I asked the question. I never said we. I was wondering if anyone knew anything I didn't know.
