Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Wii U owners can now transfer their data to another Wii U

To me, the biggest news is the ability to navigate the shop with the pro controller. They're phasing out the artificial gamepad necessity throughout the system. That could mean something...

it only means more ways to do things so that you can choose they way you want to navigate. It has nothing to do with discontinuing the gamepad

This doesn't seem to solve the main problem created by this system that's still in the early 2000's era of online gaming. What if my wiiU breaks? Things I bought online are still gone because it sounds like both wiiU's need to be in working condition. Which if so, doesn't that defeat the purpose completely?

That depends on what happens with it. If it stops reading discs, then no worries...

Dammit can you add the ability to create folders on the home screen already

Joke post? For better or worse, Nintendo is fully commited to the gamepad.

I was just going to say hardware remodel or a permanent bundling of the Pro Controller with the Wii U. So... Yeah...

You can call Nintendo and have your NNID transfered to another console if it breaks. This has been known for a long time. They're just adding a feature to let you do it yourself if you just want to upgrade to a newer model. Could mean bigger storage models are planned for the future.

It shouldn't be that big of a hassle.

Lol between eshop games and a few virtual console games I'm only using about 26 tiles.

Now all they need to take care of is changing system settings without needing the gamepad.

I don't have a problem with using the gamepad, but I should be able to change settings with the pro controller or whatever I have. Tired of juggling controllers.

I'd really love cross buy virtual console titles at least with cross-saves and restore points. That'd be really nice.
