Forums - Sony Discussion - So The Last Of Us: Remastered requires 50GB for installation.

I don't get why it can't use the 6x blu-ray drive to play games from. Use the HDD for small frequently used files, but not the whole game. Tlou ps3 install size is 50mb and it runs fine of a 2x blu-ray drive.

At least installs and deleting games is quick. Deleting game data on ps3 was a pain, that's fixed. I delete game data for games I'm finished with, HDDs tend to slow down as they fill up. A 1TB SSD drive would be ideal, but that costs more than the console...

Maybe in a couple years that would be a nice upgrade.

That's the catch with SSDs. They run faster but cost a LOT more, and as you pointed out, a sufficient PS4 sized one is expensive. Sony could make some money selling their own at a cheaper price than the market rate (and not more expensive like PSP Go, Vita, etc).

yeah like Zelda WiiU

also devs do it better on PC

it's just bad design to have it that way. if you ask me they where too lazy to think of a better way to use the hardware as they had power before anything ells in mind

what about zelda u?

it has a complex world and HD assets

even games on PS3 needed instals yet did not have those

and do you know the size of zelda u? if what u r saying is true u will see that the game will be huge, at least compared to others wii u games

thats way the last of us on ps4 will bigger

lol i suffered a lot and i still do with install process on ps3( everything is slow on ps3 even delete things)

ps4 uses some kind of install as u play technology(best thing ever) u put the disc and in less than 50 seconds u r playing the game.

Look up Seagate's hybrid drives. They are a LOT more affordable than SSDs.

well with Nintendo things can be big (as in lots of content/huge world like in Zelda) yet take small space. I don't necessarily need to know the size of the game to know that it will be huge and contain a huge amount of content. how many hours does it take to beat TLOus?

a can't imagine how much space the order will need as that is a current gen game

it takes like 15 to 20 hours.

when i said content i was talking about, sound, lighting, textures etc

think that as a dvd vs bluray.
