Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Wii U beating Xbox One even after price drop! What happened to the 360 fans?

You know i could see if this was 4yrs or so down the line. Not even 1 year in tho??? Less than 1yr and no one wants? Both sides have tons of ppl who have yet to upgrade but it's over with? WTF kind of thinking is this?
I personally have close to 50+gms I've yet to complete or start. A lot of ppl are working their backlog. I could've stayed with the Xbox 360 for at least a year and half to two.

It s a little early to say the 360 fans are not loyal-  once meet gen games start rolling out a little more often we ll have a better idea how it is going to sell-    Like most I did not like to see the direction xbox was taking under Matrick ( Balmer?) - But they deserve credit for making much needed changes and Phil Spencers sincere leadership -

for or the record I don t own an xbox - I own a Wii u.  But it is way too early to assume how things will turn out for the xbox 1-  they have shown they are not going to sit around and do nothing - sooner or later thier efforts will get results IMO

Well I know several friends who are buying the PS4 instead of the Xbox One (They were 360 users last gen, which is also why I bought the PS4, so I can keep playing with them) So Xbox 360 players don't seem that loyal if you ask me.

The Xbox One reveal(Kinect, DRM, used games, always online, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KbWgUO-Rqcw )

E3 2013(lack of focus on games, lack of games)

$499 US Dollars

The Xbox "One-Eighty"

^Reasons.

E32013 was all about games. I have no idea why people keep switching up the reveal and e3

Ltd predictions by the time 9th Gen comes out

Ps4:110million

Xbox one :75 million( was 65)

Wii u: 20 milliion

X1 is not doing 'poorly' after the price drop.

Sales more than doubled in the US, and rose significantly everywhere else.  The reason the Wii U beat it last month (barley) was because it just released one of it's strongest exclusives (Mario Kart was best selling Wii game).  The X1 hasn't had Halo come out yet, in fact, last month it didn't have any major software release.

Once it has some more exclusives come out (especially halo), its sales should pick up significantly.

As for the Wii U...good job.

But I'm still not convinced that it is 'saved' yet.  I want to see if it's sales can sustain throughtout the whole year, and how well it does this holiday.

There's no doubt it will be sustained throughout the  year and even exceed the current trend by far. Smash releases in early october (only 10 weeks left) and Nintendo always goes in beast mode during the holiday season no matter the console.

Well that's just wrong lol
You're thinkin about the 3ds version

Gamestop employee says his PS4 handles games better. He mainly uses his Xone for multimedia.
Could be a reason.

And you are "convinced" the Xbone is saved and can sustain June level of sales throughout the rest of the year? It may have a couple of decent months during the holidays, but whatever the Xbone makes the PS4 will double (in USA) and triple (everywhere else).

Microsofts 360 fans were mostly third party fans who were shaved off of Sony's PS2 marketshare.

Or Rare fans, or PC fans that migrated, or people who developed interest in Halo, or, or, or

Or

Look at the sales of the PS2, Xbox, GC era. Split Sony's share right down the middle and its what MS and Sony are sharing right down the middle. Hate to say it but Rare fans are niche and don't follow a particular genre. They always expanded their minds durng the Nintendo partnership.

Back in the day, on 1up.com, I kept telling all the 360 gamers that they are on the wrong side. I told them about how MS is corrupt and that they are buying RROD junk machines. I felt like they were disloyal after 2 generations of fun that Playstation provided for them. They wouldn't listen to me and they blasted me left and right. They seemed blindly loyal, and my words seemed to have little effect. So why the change?

My first and last PS3 had the YLOD, and from what I hear wasn't less common than the RROD (a problem i never had). That said, at this point, I wouldn't trade my 360 for a One or a PS4. Even if it was a 1 for 1 trade.
