Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Do people honestly think that Hyrule Warriors will do well? Like at all?

I always see people bring up how well the DW franchise does in Japan, but when was the last time any version sold over 1m on any one console? Why do people think that a Zelda paint job will suddenly make this do better over there or over here? I think the game will bomb and the only thing that it has going for it is that it is exclusive, but I can't seeing it ever selling much more than like 500K lifetime.

EDIT: And that number is me being EXTREMELY optimistic.

500K, No offense, you do not mean.
Hyrule Warriors will sell 1 million lifetime.

Minimum 750K, to be pessimistic.

Octimist? 1,5 million.

If the game like Assassin's Creed 4 will sell 500K lifetime, how is possible that one game of Zelda sell like one multiplatform?

Links Crossbow Training sold 5 million copies.
If that shit can sell 5 mio., im pretty sure Hyrule Warriors will atleast get to 1 mio.

I think the Zelda paintjob tactic will work in the west and will make it one of the, if not the best selling Musou game in the west (which in itself doesn't mean much). Why? Because western Zelda fans seem to be a little irrational regarding Zelda, if the internet can be believed.

In Japan I don't think this will be a very successful experiment.

'That shit' came bundled with the Wii Zapper and it came out during the Wii's glory days..

it'll sell better than bayo 2..
but it still won't be all that much. but a bit better than what you're saying

Link's crossbow training sold like 5 million, and that's a crappy spinoff. If that can sell 5 mil, then HW will definatly sell at least 1 mil.

Should do 1m+ without much of a problem imo. I've done my part anyway, I pre-ordered it a few day ago lol

The more we see of it the better it looks. The game is going to be fantastic.
