Forums - Gaming Discussion - Great games that aren't replayable

So I just finished Wind Waker HD this last Friday and despite it being yet another exemplary Zelda and my favorite in the series there's one thing about Zelda that always fails for me.  In the past few years I've been clearing my backlog of Nintendo games and played through pretty much every 3d Zelda (couldn't get into Majora's Mask).  I loved Ocarina, Twilight Princess, Wind Waker, and Skyward Sword yet I just could not ever picture myself playing through them again.  For Skyward Sword and TP I just was annoyed with the controls by the end that with all the puzzles solved and story experiences I just found little interest.  For some reason Zelda doesn't lend itself to replayability with me.  Same deal with both recent DKC games in that I loved them the first time through and never really thought about going back or did and didn't find it as enjoyable.

Anyone else get this feeling with certain games where you know they're great and you enjoyed them immensely the first time through, yet never get the urge to replay?  If so what are your least replayable great games and why.  I suspect a few Portal and other puzzle game answers lol

Bioshock Infinite.  It's weird because I beat the original bioshock at least 2 times.

Alot of the games mentioned already like any Lego game, Portal 1 & 2, any open world or cinematic action / RPG game a la Bioshock, GTA, Mass Effect, Assasin's Creed Fallout 3, Skyrim etc. I loved playing through most of those games but I don't I'd ever fully go through them again.

And definitely the more recent Nintendo games like any of the main 2D/3D Mario games or any Zelda post-Wind Waker.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

For me, it's the inFAMOUS series. After I Platted 1 and 2 (I haven't played SS yet), I couldn't see myself playing those games for a long time.

Hardware owned:

PC, PS4, 3DS, Wii, Xbox 360, PS3

Most anticipated games (near to mid future):

Zelda U/NX
The Last Guardian

My list would be way too long, so I'll just say most games that aren't RPGs.

I am the Playstation Avenger.

I don't know what you guys are talking about with ND. They have some of the most cinematic games out there which makes them fun to replay. I normally beat their games twice on the way to platinum (one of my peeves of not having the hardest difficulty unlocked from the start) and then go back fairly frequently (at least annually) to replay them for the fun romp. I've played through all the Jak games 5+ times and same with Uncharted and tLoU. Crash 1 and 2 are their only games I couldn't replay.

Every career in racing games. If you are done, it is super boring to restart it.

That doesn't mean that the game is boring after that but I wouldn't replay the career.  Only time trial, online and so on...

injustice or any other fighting game

bioshock and borderlands
