would have ended in 2nd place 1 4.76%

would have ended in 3rt place 0 0%

it had sold 150 million like ps2 6 28.57%

Total:21

hi

as everyone knows the last gen sony console come out a year behind the competition and $200 and $300 more

but in spite of the new innovation of xbox live and the many casual players on the wii, ps3 seems that had  the best generation  of the three ..

My thinking is, playstation had to give everything to happen,  been disadvantaged.

playstation fans seem to be more numerous and strong that they can change the results and have been there all the time.

or last 3party dev and  publishers helped plastation  with a lot of hiquality exclusives, because they feel grateful for what happened on 94-95-0x

this means that the industry is happy with playstation and want it to stay alive ..

what do you think, playstation seems to be more special than the competition, ?why and what is the reason

It's like reading a Drake_Tolu thread. Like it has been written in some mysterious code...

Personally, I think Sony had the weakest seventh generation of the three big hardware manufacturers in terms of software, hardware, and accessories -- at least on the console side on things.

But PS3 rebounded after a disastrous start because Sony fixed the price, buoyed its first party studios, and introduced popular features like PS Plus. Third parties continued to support the system because the audience was there (not because of gratitude), and fans continued to support the system because Playstation, for better or worse, is the most recognizable and popular video game brand in the world.

The only 3rd party exclusive I see in Sony's top 100 is MGS4. Sony only really got 3rd party exclusives in Japan. Rest of the world was giving more exclusives to 360 and Wii far as I can tell.

Third party support isn't because of gratitude, it's because they worked or paid for it. The exception would be Japanese games that skipped the 360 because they didn't think that version would sell enough extra copies to justify the effort.

The PS1 and PS2 earned the Playstation brand a LOT of fans. However, I think the rise of World Wide Studios and their first party exclusives is what turned the tide as much as anything. That was clear by the way the PS3 finished off the generation.

The funny thing about last generation is that everyone screwed up badly at least once. Sony at the start of the gen with the cost of the PS3, Microsoft with the RROD, and Nintendo, despite the huge success of the Wii, left the console to die, which killed their momentum going forward. This gen, Sony is the only one that hasn't had a major screw-up, though it's still very early.

i never  say that they made the games for free , hiquality games  or good games

There's a lot wrong with the information in this thread, but I will say I supported the PS3 AFTER Sony fixed things. They dropped the price, and got a solid lineup of exclusives. In my opinion the best exclusives of the generation aside from Mario Galaxy. Sony screwed up with the PS3 launch but they turned things around, kind of like how Microsoft is doing with the XBO. Terrible start but they're getting in line.
