Yes, it's also made by NIS and if I'm not wrong in was made between Disgaea 1 and 2, for the PS2. It resembles the strategy in Disgaea but the game has his own unique style and it's pretty good too, and both the main characters have also appeared in Disgaea games (as other NIS games that always appear too), maybe you know them, Ash (a blue haired warrior that uses a red scarf, his actually a ghost) and Marona (a totally cute and sweet green haired girl). If you played Disgaea 3 you probably have Marona at your party, she is a healer and joins you in the post game (she appears with a twisted personality because of a event of the game, but she is a good girl, if you defeate Baal you can see it). Ash was only achievable by DLC if I'm not wrong. In Disgaea 4 both are DLC only. Phantom Brave is an amazing game and was the reason I discovered Disgaea, yeah, Disgaea was not the one who bring me to NIS xD Also, Laharl, Etna and Flonne appears at Phantom Brave as well in the post game and you can have them to join your party. I highly recommend you the game if you still have a PS2.

it sounds great, (i have only played Disgaea 4, and never got Disgaea 3 because i heard it wasnt the best one...), i also always wanted to grab the original Disgaea but i never got a copy of the game back in the PS2 era, and thats the reason why im hyped to play Disgaea D2 because i finally get to see Laharl, Etna and Flonne as main characters.
and no sadly i dont have a PS2 anymore but i want to buy one, especially now that its getting discontinued, just to play some of the games that i missed on the system like the .Hack series, Persona 3, the original Disgaea and now the recently added Phantom Brave.
