Since Xbox 360 and PS3 just found out they got the successor disease, I came to realize that I should pick one of these up before they discontinue. Since I'm a Nintendo user (not a fanboy) I wanted to try out some games that never went to Nintendo. The only problem is that I don't know which one to buy. I went to 2 of my friends for their opinion (both are major Sony and MS fanboys) and at the end, they both started fighting, so I left them.

Even though I use Steam, my processor is terrible and I can only play simple puzzle games or low end FPS games like Wild Warfare.

I want to know which games are better, which has better services, etc.

Well you should first list what type of games you like first, that might help narrow it down.

As I never had a 360 I would recommend you the PS3 of course, but that's too biased. So at the end you must pick the one with the biggest amount of exclusives of your interest. Also you should have said prefered genre or something.

PS3 multiplayer is free, and there are usually much better sales of digital games on PSN store.
Also, my opinion is that PS3 has a better variety of exclusive games. If you're not into shooters or car racing, there is barely anything interesting on X360.
Also, X360 will force you to buy batteries for your controller, and you muzt buy their special headphones.

The Xbox 360 controler is very cool and there are a lot of good games, but it would be a crime to miss Demons souls, Heavy Rain, the Uncharteds, Valkyria Chronicles and MGS4

PS3 has a larger variety but tends to specialize in story focused games especially in the Action/Adventure and JRPG genres. PSN has (imo) better selection of games that have most of the best PS1 games and a decent amount of PS2 classics. BluRay is also a plus
360 has a larger online community from what Ive seen. The 360 specializes in online multiplayer games. They have pretty good FPSs. People tend to say XBL is better, I cant comment on that though :p

Most here will probably recommend PS3, and I agree.

I would go for the PS3, much broader library genra (or it seems) and... I like RPGs and so... there are more RPGs on the PS3 :P

PS3 has a broader variety of games. Tho some of those earlier ports of 360 games were awful like Bayonetta. PS3 free online multiplayer. Still be supported a couple more years. Region free so importing is a breeze. Can install a new HDD easy peasy without breaking warranty. In fact some digital games in the west get Japan physical versions and a few are import friendly meaning no English no problem.
