Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Xbox One-Exclusive Quantum Break’s Live Action Show Unaffected by Xbox Entertainment Studios Closure

Now that is sad news, I always hated the inclusion of live action in my games... And the tying in of tv shows is even worse! No matter how great the concept and core game is, the idea just suck (same goes for tying in content from a web site like in infamous, thankfully that was purely optionnal).

god forbid we have different styles of games and forms of entertainment, just because you dont like it doenst mean others wont. personally i am all in for vastly different types of experiences.

The game looks cool, but does it need a show...? Seems like a waste of money to me.

I would think that it's cheaper to hire some B-List actors and film them, than to generate all those cutscenes using CGI.

Well the game itself wont have live action cutscenes. Its just a tv show that will air on XBL you can watch...

It is exactly wgat I was thinking, until users here explained otherwise. It seems that the "show" will be an integral part of the game, and shipped on the disc.

Oh ok. Basically the same thing though

The game's cutscenes are separate from the live action. It is shipped on the disc but is not used to replace CGI cutscenes. CGI = hero's story, live action = villian's story.

I know. I guess people without internet would really get upset if they only got half the game.

Devs had said somewhere that after each played chapter, you have an option to watch some cutscenes if you choose to expand the story.

Great to hear! The ridiculous TV shows in Max Payne 1 + 2 already added some value:

So did the "Night Springs" and "Writer in the Cabin" clips in Alan Wake. I'm replaying Alan Wake right now in the "definitive version" (1080p, 60 fps, all settings maxed out, director's video commentaries on)... still a great game!

Quantum Break is the only XBO game (so far) which could get me to buy the XBO next year... I love the Remedy games!
