Forums - Sales Discussion - PREDICTION: Xbox1 will not win NPD when Halo 5 is released.

Perhaps, now that you said it I want that to happen.

Probbaly because Nintendo or Sony get a bigger system seller over there.

Yup, I also think UC4 will sell more than Halo 5. The UC brand is big, and ND's own brand is stronger after TLOU. Meanwhile, Halo has been mishandled by 343, and it's coming to a struggling console on which I doubt it'll have the same effect as Halo 3. Overall, UC4 will outsell it.

The Halo isn't as strong as it once was.

Xbox 1 won't win NPD no matter what game comes out for it

2 to 1 sales will never repeat for the foreseeable future in the USA.

XOne won NPD last december and sales where close in November. PS4 has no major exclusive these hollydays.

Will soon enough, X1 drops hard after every big bump be it holidyas TF and now new SKU.

Xbox survived by the virtue of PS4 being no wher in sight,PS4 would have tripled its sales if there was stock.

Neither does X1.

RIght now, it's about 1.5 to 1.  After Last of Us PS4 and Destiny psuedo PS4 exclusive, the NPD should be 2 to 1 in PS4's favor.  I think the only way, it won't be 2 to 1 in PS4 favor could be because of supply constraints ala PS4 are completely sold out this holiday.

Supply issue is over. I mean even in France you can find PS4 on amazon.....

Although i think Xone have a chance of winning the halo 5 week,i will not make a bet against Bevochan. He is the master of necrobump and will teabag everyone in this thread two years from now.

Do we have a release date for Halo 5? Shouldn't we be talking about the Halo Collection?

we dont. we just know its 2015

but november is the best time to launch for huge sales.

and all the halo games was released in september or november

only halo wars was february

q4 2015 is a save bet

Would not surprise me if it is earlier then q4 2015. Otherwise it would not make sence to me to already bundle a Halo 5 Beta in the Halo Collection that far ahead of the final release. But then again only time will tell of course.

After Destiny is released and thru the holidays, I think PS4 will have about a 2-to-1 advantage for NPD hardware sales.  Also, with imminent releases of various 3rd party games that are superior on the PS4, the momentum of the PS4 hardware sales advantage will be carried for a long time.

I'm assuming Halo 5 will be release for holiday 2015 (Oct/Nov).  If Uncharted 4 is released within a month from Halo 5, Xbox1 definitely will not win NPD.  Even without Uncharted 4, I think it'll be close, but holiday releases are crowded with too many games and Halo 5 won't be enough to win NPD.

I think releasing Halo 5 and Uncharted 4 close to each other would see Halo come out on top

For software, I'll give an edge to Halo 5 having a bigger opening (although I still think Uncharted 4 can edge Halo 5 lifetime).

However, for hardware, Xbox 1 with Halo 5 release will definitely not beat PS4 with Uncharted 4 release.

I believe Xbox One has a possibility in that month and who knows, maybe Microsoft release the game along with a slimmer Xbox One version or new colors.
