Xbox One Sales More Than Double in June with New $399 Option and Unveiling of Holiday Games Lineup

By Xbox Wire Staff

Over the past month, we’ve seen a strong spike in interest in our Xbox One console options, including the new $399 offering, and the amazing lineup of games announced during E3. Since the new Xbox One offering launched on June 9th, we’ve seen sales of Xbox One more than double* in the US, compared to sales in May, and solid growth in Xbox 360 sales.

We’re excited to welcome so many fans to Xbox this summer and we can’t wait for them to get their hands on the wide selection of new games available this year on Xbox One, including
Halo: The Master Chief CollectionSunset OverdriveForza Horizon 2, and Ori and the Blind Forest. Xbox One is the only place you can play these games along with creative independent titles and blockbusters such as Assassin’s Creed UnityCall of Duty: Advanced WarfareDestinyEvolveGrand Theft Auto V, and dozens more. We’re honored that Xbox One was awarded with the best games line-up of 2014 by game critics at E3 and our fans have a lot of amazing new games to look forward to in the coming months.

Starting in August with the release of
Madden NFL 15, new blockbuster hits will launch for Xbox One at an incredible pace throughout the fall, as we head into the holiday season. Gamers love the holidays and we are lining up incredible deals and special promotions to celebrate. The fun is just getting started and we can’t wait to share more exciting news soon.

Have they lost NPD? More than double, Less than 200k then?

So we should expect around 155-160k for NPD tomorrow? Probably a good 50k behind PS4 and WiiU will be right on its ass.

8th gen predictions. (made early 2014)
PS4: 60-65m
WiiU: 30-35m
X1: 30-35m
3DS: 80-85m
PSV: 15-20m

ROFL :)

More than double (shhhhh ... May numbers!!)

By that metric, 77000 x2 = 144,001, basically. In a 5 week month.

Sounds to me like it's likely below April sales rate (divided by week to match proper sales rate).

Well that's good news.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

Thats what I'm thinking. Are they conceeding they didn't win, or are they confident and doing what Sony did in March?

thats just a touch over pachters prediction of 150k. may was 77k, so 154 is double, so 155-165 could be expect tomorrow

I am Torgo, I take care of the place while the master is away.

"Hes the clown that makes the dark side fun.. Torgo!"

Ha.. i won my bet, but i wasnt around to gloat because im on a better forum!  See ya guys on Viz

Didn't it only sell 77k in May? Double would still be only 144k for this month :/

Regardless, it's still a big increase and good news. 77k is utter crap, 144k is respectable. Can't complain with that.

Edit: I durped at the mathz, 77x2 = 154 not 144.

So over 160k then?
