I understand all the pieces of the puzzle...but I have no idea why someone whould find it funny to post such a terrible picture.  There are some things that will never be funny...and all people are really doing is showing their lack of compassion for a very real tragedy.  typical response pgrases like "Lighten up, it's just a joke, it's the internet" aren't really constructive either.  At some point something has to have value and people posting such things should realize that the value of what they are posting should be beneath them.  

Tragedy + time = comedy.

Well all I can say is you lost a fan.  I understand all that is to be said about humor...but this laissez-faire approach to everything is repulsive...especially because I don't think people "think" about it.  It's the "not thinking about it" part that really hit a nerve in this thread. It seriously is just a non-sequiter with very real implications.  We're having a discussion about smileys and you want to do one with hitler...ok.  South Park has been there, done that...but such a repulsive use of imagery without any sort of thought going into it is the issue I'm taking with it.

Simply...you should feel entitled to post whatever you want...as should I.  And I don't see the funny...that is all.
