There seems to be a lot  of debate over the morality of biological immortality, and what it would mean for the economic and social structure of society.

If you were given the option to become biologically immortal, would you take it? Would you want biological immortality outlawed? Or would you just want people to have a choice?

EDIT: Biological immortality is the ability to never age. It's very different from mainstream immortality since you can still die from external circumstances like an accident or starvation.

EDIT 2: For people saying it's completely impossible, it's not. "Although the premise that biological aging can be halted or reversed by foreseeable technology remains controversial,[16] recent research into developing possible therapeutic interventions is already underway.[17] Among the principle drivers of international collaboration in such research is the SENS Research Foundation, a non-profit organization that advocates a number of what it claims are plausible research pathways that might lead to engineered negligible senescence in humans.[18]"

Perhaps not in our lifetime, but with breakthroughs in genetic engineering and the progress we have made towards identifying aging factors, nothing is impossible. Whether or not it is right is what I'm asking.

I would be fine with it because
I would become immortal
and raid AVGN's house

Jesus, this is a loaded question.

I've actually thought of this. After 100 years, no, but initial would be hell yes.

like time travel this is not possible

    R.I.P Mr Iwata :'(

I guess that would be cool. I could clear my backlog with patience. Would support definitely

We're already suffering so many problems with overpopulation and losing resources. As tragic as death is, it's crucial for the cycle of life to continue, and if it was disrupted, it would ruin this for everyone.

I would take if I remain at my best looks (that´s important!).
But you know, in most stories the immortality is considered a curse (except for stories where the antagonist wants it). Of course, there's no end. You eventually would just want to go on.
But I would enjoy at least 500yrs of nerd stuff before that. Maybe I should try play chess with a grim reaper...

Another abomination of God´s creation and a sign of the coming apocalipse. It will happen, as predicted in the Revelation book, it will be a bad deal though, "man will seek death but it will flee from him". It will actually be part of the sign of the beast. If you take the deal of everlasting biological life, you are out of the kingdom of heaven, not even Jesus Christ will redeem you.

My grammar errors are justified by the fact that I am a brazilian living in Brazil. I am also very stupid.

Not true. There are already species that are biologically immortal. Scientists have also made great leaps in identifying causes of aging (like telomere caps), and with genetic engineering not too far off, nothing is truly impossible.

Yes, without a doubt unless I end up like that one anime... Arghh, forgot what the name was, its like Daughters of Rin or something. If its like that, then maybe not but I doubt its going to be anything like that. The issue is that, yes, its going to be sad when people you love die but you will always find another. I guess it really depends how much u care about death when it comes to you vs ur loved ones cause for me, seeing other people die is sad but if I had the choice, I would rather not join them. And of course, the other thing is that, oh you will get bored... Dude, shit does not stay the same, things change every so often, so I doubt that part... But who knows, its hard to tell what would really happen

And who knows, maybe when u snu snu, ur dna might work its magic for ur child so u can always have that to keep you company
