This is really good work! Are you going to chart a comparison of the Amazon figures and the reported sales. I'd love to see how well Amazon's trends correlate to overall sales trends. That would go a long way to determining how representative of the market they really are.

Huh? 3DS least "most wanted" hardware is not a very good correlation of what's actually happening in the industry. And right now Xb one and Wii U should be much closer with Vita about half of Wii U.
About the only reasonable correlation is PS4 significantly above Xb one and Wii U.
It is interesting data to look atand I congratulate the OP on putting the effort in. This should be a data driven website because it is all about sales analysis and predicitons of future sales. But I question the predictive value of this data a bit when PS vita is above 3DS. Unless of course people really want PSV but decide to settle for 3DS because of price, and perhaps library of games.
For me, because I have PS4, my most wanted other console would be Vita, for the integration with PS4 (and PS3). But there's no way I'm buying one. So yeah, maybe Vita is high because a lot of PS3/4 owners covet a Vita, but they actually have no intention to buy.

This is very interesting. Hope to see COD:AW and AC:U in comparison. Wonder if it is just the exclusive content, or the fact that the PS4 versions are better? This holiday is going to be the most exiteing in years.
