Well, uhm...

About this time last year (June 2013 and before) I was a complete Nintendo fanboy. I called 10k boost that games did on the Wii U moving consoles, and didn't consider the current sales (20k weekly, I think) horrible!

On top of that, I thought that it wasn't Nintendo's fault that they weren't getting Third Party support, and that the developers were too lazy to put their games on Wii U.

I also, without researching, assumed that all Sony and Microsoft's first party games were generic/realistic (While completely ignoring the fact that I enjoyed Halo 3...)

What I think snapped me out of that is a comment on YouTube, telling someone how dumb they were for saying what I agree with.

BTW, I'm not trying to start a flame war or troll someone, so just don't say anything if you want to argue!

This story sounds similar to mine. I also defended Nintendo to the death but I too realized I was being dumb...

I went further than you though, sold my Wii U & got a PS4

I want the game to be set in a country other than America. I mean it's odd but I want my friend to shut up about how America is everywhere :P

I would like that, to be honest.  However, a big part of the game is that it captures the feel of the USA during the 1940s, especially including all the war-time propaganda.  In order to capture that same atmosphere, the developers would need to be very familar with the country in question.  If they aren't, it would only seem fake.

I think England would make for a nice setting.  Canada ... maybe.  A snowy wasteland could be good, too, though I have no idea how much urban development Canada had during that period.

China was the main enemy of the US during the war that kicked the world in the face.  I really can't recall if the game talked about what happened in Europe.

That's an interesting comment.  Reminds me a bit of how anti-Playstation I was when the PS1 was first revealed.  I remember hoping that they would fail for trying to steal Nintendo's rightful place at the top.  It's way too easy to fall into that trap and some people get so deep that they never realize it.

Just beat Red Dead Redemption today and as I've already said in a few places over the last week or two, it was pretty disappointing. Overall it was a good game but for something that is praised so highly, it was quite a letdown.

Now I have a bunch of RPGs to play through and I'm finding it hard to actually get the motivation to start again. I'm a good bit through FFVII so I plan to beat that before jumping into all the other RPGs I have, but there is a lot of stuff in that game, and as someone who tends to do everything that is put before them (in games), I'm having a hard time moving on. Right now I'm at a point where I need to trudge across the map to play another one of those Fort Condor battles, but that just doesn't sound like a fun time to me. FFVII's whole handling of Fort Condor is pretty much designed to spite me .-.

Thats whats on my mind right now (related to gaming only of course)...

And they're also grown men most of the time... :/

Most overrated game I've played: Kingdom Hearts 2, just sayin.

Really red dead is in my top 5 games of all time next to super paper mario sonic adventure and mass effect 2. What was wrong with it?

I really need to play some RPGs but I have no will to do so. Mainly cause I still need to finish windwaker.

Consoles: 3DS, Wii U, and Vita soon. Super Paper Mario fan.

Well first of all, seems like we have very different tastes in games :P I disliked Super Paper Mario and have never really loved any Sonic games and I am having a hard time getting into ME1 haha...

Anyways, theres a good deal of things wrong with it, but of course they are all very opinionated. I wont go into anything in a lot of detail because that could take all day, but I'll just go over a few of my points:

-The world is really boring
-The main story is bland and felt played
-Almost every interaction with story characters is the same and it really gets tired
-The gameplay had very little variety
-A good deal of the way through the game, I felt like I was still playing a tutorial ("here, let me show you how to do this super simple thing in a way that feels like a tutorial level")
-A good deal of annoying glitches, which sometimes required me to restart missions (or do them in ways that wasn't what I was supposed to do)
-The "challenges" were stupidly designed
-Dead eye (is that what it was called?) is a silly mechanic which felt out of place and unneccessary
-Ragdoll doesn't belong in any game except comedy games

It still had its good points, but I felt like my enjoyment was constantly being held back by the things that I didn't like...

I wasn't anti-Sony when I was younger because I didn't know enough to care. I didn't have a care in the world like most young children. Then, I found VGC and became anti-Sony for a while...you're right, it does trap you in the hate. It's really sad thinking back on it.
