Forums - Sony Discussion - Sony Gamescom predictions

Sony has a strong history of revealing major news at Gamescom as Europe is a stronghold for Sony so we can safely expect some big announcements from Sony at Gamescom 2014. Tidux has been trawling the Sony garbage cans and found more information, apparentally in addition to Sony being interested in purchasing troubled Studio Crytek Sony is set to breathe life into the PS Vita once again. This could mean any number of things but most likely news on upcoming third party titles and hopefully an Infamous Vita but thats a long shot. He also said to expect a "Megaton" announcement and given Sony's lack of AAA announcements at E3 2014 this seems highly likely as Sony really needs more AAA exclusives in the future.

Rumoured Annoucements plus how likely I consider them to be.

Uncharted Remastered- Highly likely as Uncharted 4 is releasing in 2015 and Sony needs to introduce its major franchise to the many new PlayStation gamers.

Beyond Two Souls Remastered- Again sadly this is quite likely as multiple retailers have listed it and despite it having mixed reviews it sold resonably well. However it is also a poster boy for PlayStation Now so it wouldnt actually make any sense for a remaster but its possible

Gran Turismo 7- Not likely as the game seems some way off and with Gran Turismo 6 releasing on the PS4 in December it would only detract from it.

Last of Us sequel- Rubbish, it may be on the cards at Naughty Dog but it would be very early in development as the Last of Us remaster has only just been finished and with Uncharted 4 coming next year it seems a long way off. However Sony could tease it as a way to entice people to stick to PS4 with the promise that it is coming, however it seems unlikely as Sony do not let all the cards go at once, expect to see it in 2016 E3

The Last Guardian- 50-50, No one can ever be sure about this game but Sony continue to assure us that it is still in production and has most likely been shifted to PS4, this would help Sony boost its AAA game library and would provide a large PR boost after a disappointing E3 however due to Team ICO being Japanese it will most likely be shown at the Tokyo Game Show if it ever is.

Odd World Sequel? Now this is just specualtion but one can not hope and with Sony going back to old classics recently this is certainly a possibility

Crash Bandicoot? This is also speculation, however with Activision removing it from their website and a tease from an early PS4 ad this could well be happening in the future but it will not be a Naughty Dog game for sure. Highly unlikely but one can onlu hope.

Media Molecule's next game, Highly Likely, Sony need games and this will no doubt be shown at Gamescom, 99% sure on this

Guerilla Games next game, not likely as its not even a year on from Killzone Shadow Fall but still a possibility as Sony looks to boost its game library ahead of the holiday season.

Project Morpehus? Most likely will make an appearance but will not have any price or release details.

PS Vita AAA game? Perhaps, Tidux has promised this and we would all love for this to happen as the Vita is an amazing system but its slow sales and lack of hacking like the PSP means its still unappealing to many people. Sony could be prepared to throw one last shot at it with Infamous Vita a game long rumoured to be coming and coming off the success of Second Son would be perfect timing.

More Exclusive content...Yes definetely this will be there, Destiny will once again be there along with Far Cry 4

How do you think my list stacks up? Remember its only my personal opinion.

Around the Network

Probably some Japanese games, Guerilla's next game, and more info about Bloodborne and The Order.

As far absurd it may sound, the one who has the most chance to happen in that list is The Last Guardian.
GT 7 Prologue maybe appear too.

I have read somewhere that the next GT won't have a prologue and will be a full content game.

Around the Network

will they show The Last Guardian.

My guess:

MM's new IP
Guerilla's new IP
Beyond: Two Souls Remaster
GTA: Stories Vita
New trailer for Rime + release window
Kill Strain

i'd guess they have one big game to show. either MM or GG's new game. i'm guessing MM as they did have something at the ps4 reveal forever ago and really ought to be ready to show something.

TLG is TGS not gamescom.

a handful of other announcements that are smaller. pixel junk? more exclusive indies?

highlight of titles for this holiday and bloodborne and the order.

WHOOOW Hold your horses, Sony couldn't even get the long anticipated type0 to their handheld, let alone a Multimillionaire franchise dedicated to it.. Unless you're refering to that compilation of the two released games on PSP, then it would be the most irrelevant game of all times IMO.

The other guesses are on the contrary safe.

GG's new IP is very likely actually, its been in development since late 2011
