Wii U owners paid for this game to be made, and was rewarded with this. Slightly Mad studidos basically said "shut up losers, we can do whatever we want" and it's somehow Ninty's fans fault.

As did PS3, PS4, PC, 360 and Xbox One owners, with the largest bulk of payments being from PC sim enthusiasts (all of the highest tier founding positions, which account for a large portion of the total, are pc simmers).

So let's not pretend that WiiU owners paid for all or even a lions share of the game, shall we.

If you're a backer go join the members forums here: http://forum.wmdportal.com/forumdisplay.php?23-Project-CARS and read the posts by the highest backers, and check out the user polls, by all means.

If not then simply look at the funding breakdown at the top of the forum.

Junior: 89,960 €
Team Member: 260,945 €
Full Member: 386,525 €
Senior: 161,100 €

Senior Manager: 886,030 €

Members Total: 2,273,365 €
Slightly Mad Studios: 1,500,000 € (the studios own money)

Of that 2.27m member funding,  1.37m of it is from manager and senior manager positions, the other 898,530 is from senior member or lower.

This is the problem: what we do as consumers will have no effect. If we all boycott them with a giant middle finger and they sell 5 copies lifetime, they will feel justified that they released the game late. If we all buy it to support 3rd parties and show them that we actually do want their games, they'll think "Sweet, delaying this game and being dicks to our fanbase has no consequences!"

Classic Nintendo Fanboy logic reaction here: "I didn't want it anyway."

Have you been reading this? They are saying they don't want it because of the delay. They are boycotting it because they are being treated like crap.

Even so, he didn't state or even imply that Wii U owners "only" paid for this, nor the most. You have a dangerous mountain to climb before you can even argue that Wii U owners shouldn't be pissed. They're part of the sum and that's enough.

as are the ps360 owners, but where are the tears for them?

It's not like the game was funded by Nintendo fans first or anything...

Pointless post, but typical notheless.

it was funded by Ninty fans PC user and PS 360 users. Now im not saying what they did is right but the latter two versions got dropped completly and they arent complaining anywhere near as much.

Because those are last gen systems. Should Nintendo fans not complain at all then and accept this? I don't think so.

what kind of logic is that? the game was announced as PC PS360 and Wii U and was funded by users of thsoe systems. Whether they are last gen or not is irrelevant as they still funded the project. Not even sure why you brought that up.

My point is Wii U owners are still getting the game, so lets not act that they got screwed over, yes it sucks they have to wait but thats what it is. PS360 owners got a rawer deal and they arent complaining

- Well it won't have the same marketing $$$ spent on it so long after the others

- People wanting it on the Wii U may have other systems like the PC will just go PC instead

- The hype for the game has diminished for Wii U gamers, many put off by this treatment

- The hype for the game will diminish further once it has been out so long on other systems "newness factor missing"

- Many who are not into sim racing would have bought it anyway to support a "real" effort" for the system, reduced now

- Poor sales compounded by these reasons will harm future development, which is a serious consiquence of all this, Wii U owners should be pissed

Really the big one is the lack of Marketing $$$, much like what will happen to Watchdogs as it's so much later, the game will just be released into relative silence compared to earlier versions

Nice to see you taking the developers side on this.

I'm taking their side too. They've been developing this game since well before the Wii U launched and watched it struggle from the get-go, knowing full well their game is probably going to flop like many of the other third party releases on Wii U. Yet, they've remained firm in keeping it coming. This game has been in development longer than any confirmed title, yet it's never been a question of whether it will be canceled, and up until now, Slightly Mad has had nothing but positive things to say regarding it the Wii U and their port for the console.

You can't blame them for securing funding from a major publisher, either. They're essentially an indy studio releasing a big-budget game that will be competing with the likes of Drive Club, Forza and Gran Turismo on most consoles, and fighting just to be relevant to the audience of another. That's an uphill battle on every front.

To anyone who planned to get the game for Wii U, shut the hell up and wait a few months; it's not going to kill you. If the last few months are anything like the first two years, then I can promise you that you will still be getting one hell of a game, or at least a game on par with other consoles. There will be plenty to play in the meantime.

By the way, I never planned on gettng Project CARS. I've never been a fan of realistic racing sims. But if I was, this news wouldn't bother me in the slightest.

The issue isn't whether its true or false.

This is a matter of tact. Blantant insult of your consumers is never warranted regadless of the circumstances.

I never said anything about true or false. I'm telling other Wii U owners to get a grip and put themselves in SM's shoes.

And you think those PS360 people will not eventually get PS4/Xboxone?

I'm not even sure why you are justifying this delay and how it was done. Anyone who tries to downplay it is just accepting this kind of treatment. This isn't the first time the Wii U version of a third party game was treated as second rate too, but who cares since its the Wii U right? XD
