I'm sure it will pick up massively once it gets some Japan centric games. The western release had loads of Western games so the success is no surprise.

As far as I know, there is nothing major until way into 2015

To add to that, in a market(Japan) that favors quality gameplay over graphic fidelity(just look at the handheld market), why do they really need a PS4 that essentially only gives them upgraded graphics?

This sounds so odd and definitely doesn't hold as an absolute truth. Handhelds are popular because of commuter culture and the low cost associated, not because of any gameplay over graphics rubbish.

I agree that it is not an absolute, but neither is your explanation.  In almost every large city in Europe or the US, there is a huge commuter market.  In all markets, the cost is King, so that answer means nothing too.  It will always be a combination of many things.

Well the Japanese audience seem to favor brillant visuals way way more than action packed gameplay. Remember they are the ones who popularized the turn-based battle style in RPGs. if the reverse was the case, the Xbox brand would be extremely successful in Japan.

Please give me another example where there are 35 million people in a single metropolitan area where the great majority of population uses public transportation. That is just Tokyo's metro population and there are several other large cities that built similarily. It's different from other countries, because even in large cities, most people still own their vehicle.

Bloodborne and deep down should be out relatively soon.

Japan is pretty much irrelevant from to the console market these days. They should be wore worried about vita sales there

Apparently, they are unwilling to pay for it(visuals) then...

It is near the end of the end....

No games for their market yet.

Bloodborne, Deep Down and Driveclub will push the sales when they come out

They have no games lol. I think it's amazing they're selling what they're selling in japan with basically nothing
