I really couldn't care less about subscription services...Full crossbuy for VC (for games available on multiple systems only of course) would be a nice addition, but other than that, I can't really see them doing anything that I would care about.

Someone explained it in the thread earlier better than I could.

If they made it like $5 a month for unlimited access to all old-school games that wouldn't interest you? I would be all over that!
I'm more surprised that having a universal account across all platforms hasn't been one of Nintendo's top priority. The other competitors are quick to enable features their rival is using

Well I doubt they would make it that low...thats the price of 1 NES game. I would probably be interested at that price, but because you don't get to keep the games, I would probably pass on any realistic price.
I wouldn`t mind a subscription model if they add new platforms like Saturn, Gamecube, Dreamcast and make the other ones return (Neo Geo, Mega Drive - the ones that i care, at least!).

I'd have to agree with this...although I think they would opt for the 8.99 Netflix pricing model. I'm sure they would also put in a 10% discount on purchases as well with the subscription.
That is, if any of this is actually true.

I know it's a hail mary, but perhaps this is another step closer to GBA games on 3DS and/or cross-buy? |
Don't hold your breath for GBA on 3DS. It isn't powerful enough to emulate GBA games in the first place (ambassador games aren't emulated, they are launched as native apps through the DS mode, and from there, GBA mode. That's why they couldn't include things like suspend points. Every VC title from now on will have suspend points and GBA on 3DS doesn't support it.
Yep.
